SOURCE: problem with joystick on Jazzy 1103 ultra

You will need to take it in for repair. 8 bar flash usually means you have a bad joystick/controller. They can sometimes send it in to the manufacturer to have it repaired. Find a reputable dealer and relay this info to them.

SOURCE: where do I find a wiring diagram for the jazzy

Here's a link to the Pride Tech Manual guides. Click on the 1103 for a PDF file.
http://www.prideservice.com/TechnicalProductGuides/technicalproductguides.asp

The wiring is pretty simple and straightforward. These operate on a 24VDC system provided by two 12VDC batteries. Power from the batteries goes to the controller into a Joystick/controller combo. It leaves the joystick down to each motor/gear/brake assembly. Power to the batteries comes from the charger which puts out 28VDC, with a 120VAC input. Very rarely does any of the wiring go bad excepting those people who grossly overload the chair, or run it into fixed objects at full speed. Other mishaps with overamping are caused when somebody tries driving over unstable surfaces like sand, gravel, mud/wet grass and spin the motors. This drives the controller crazy because its job is to keep the chair pointed in the right direction, and with wheels spinning, it doesn't know what to do. Overheating the motors or controller, or both. There are two sets of "brushes" on each motor that carry the current from the batteries to the motor. These are located under a black-plastic slotted screw port at the ends of each motor. Removing the plastic screw reveals the brush. It should have a flexible semi-copper lead that shows no evidence of overheating, or brittleness, and should be about 3/4 of an inch long. If 1/4 of an inch, it should be replaced. Check all four. Good luck.

SOURCE: i need the pinout of the jazzy 1103 ultra battery

Hello,
The Output voltage 24 - 29v ,Usually 27v. (And 4 Amps)
The Pin arrangement is Negative to the Left, Inhibit in the Middle, And Positive to the Right Assuming your looking into the plug itself from the front.
Always check with a Voltmeter first though because there are some chargers with the Opposite Pin Arrangement.

Try swapping batteries one side to the other and see if the problem moves to the other wheel. The clicking sounds like a relay. clean the battery contacts with a wire brush and smear them with a little Vaseline which prevents oxidization.

These are the batteries.

Reset button

While replacing the batteries you may have bumped the brake releases. Release both and return them to the operate position. It is also possible to get one or both batteries backwards. This is a 24 volt system so pay close attention to the color codes on the cables. Be careful of shorts.

The battery light flashes and the chair wont go.

Sounds like it might be time to change the batteries. Even if batteries are charged correctly they eventually lose power with use and need to be changed. Here is a link to the battery needed for the Jazzy 1103 Ultra http://www.replacementupsbattery.com/UB12350-NB.html
