A DVD player does not have a record capability. In order record you must have a DVD Recorder.

Convert VHS to DVD via PC and software
What you need:
An analog converter device, VHS to DVD tutorial: analog converter
A PC with a DVD drive, DVD burning software (take Leawo DVD Creator as an example).

How you do it:
Step 1: Usually the converter has a USB portal on one side and red, white and yellow RCA cable on the other side. Connect the cables according to the colors and connect PC through the USB port.
VHS to DVD tutorial: connect converter
Step 2: Now you should be able to play the VHS footage on your computer, and this is when the Screen recorder come into play. Capture the screen while your VHS footage plays on your computer and storage it as a MPEG file (best MP4).
Step 3: Open Leawo DVD Creator and import the MP4 video you have just captured.
Step 4: Click the big green icon Burn to call out DVD burning panel.
Step 5: Enter the DVD burning setting panel and set the saving location. Then you could start to burn.

Hope this is helpful for all those with this same issue.

Recorder stops recording from vhs tapes after about a minute

Some VHS tapes have copyright signals embedded in them. Then when the DVD recorder reads the copyright signal it will stop recording due to it thinking there is a copyright violation happening. Try testing with a VHS TAPE of a show you have recorded off the TV and see if it does the same thing .,

Most Combo Recorders (VHS and DVD) will prevent you from
recording a Copyrighted VHS tape program onto DVD.
Try recording a TV program onto your VHS tape, then
transfer it to your DVD and see if your new DVD recording
will work or not.

I am trying to copy a VHS to DVD from a VHS player. I have a Sony VRD-MC6 multi-function DVD Recorder. I am using the A/V cable and have verified that they are correctly placed. The Sony player will...

Is it possible the VHS you're trying to copy is copy-protected? Apparently, the MC6 displays "waiting for signal" when you're attempting to copy a copy-protected (commercial) video. I had success converting my own homemade VHS tapes. I just bought my MC6, and thought I'd pass along some tips I got from others: You know you're recording when a red ring around the large Record button lights up and it actually says "recording" on screen, and adjust HQ to SP to get 2-plus hours of video on the DVD.

How to record a vhs tape to dvd on a samsung 1080

Hello

1.The VHS/DVD player must have recording capabilities.

2 Connect both players to a television so that you can make sure you are recording the appropriate content. You can also monitor the speed at which the VHS is copying to DVD.

3. Place the VHS in the VHS player and the blank DVD in the DVD recorder. You will need to use your remote and go through the menu options to choose the correct format for recording. The formats should be clearly labeled and outlined in your instruction manual. Choose the option that will read something like "VHS to DVD." You may also have to choose recording speed, which varies per blank DVD that you purchase. Every player is different, and every menu will vary slightly. If you have questions, refer to you individual manual.

4. Select the option that works best for you and hit "Play" on the VHS player and "Record" on the DVD recorder. To play the finished DVD, you will select the playback option.

RCA 8295n dvd-vcr combo starts recording from VHS tape to disk and then stops.

Is the VHS tape a store bought movie or show?

MacroVision and other copy protection systems are put into store bought tapes and discs of movies and shows, and are read by your recording equipment. Once it reads this, it stops recording.

Does the screen turn red before it stops? This is one of the indications that MacroVision is stopping you.

Losing Audio Halfway Through Recording

The audio failure sounds more like a VHS player failure than a DVD software/recorder failure. Both audio and video are transferred at the same time to the DVD, and as long as the DVD recorder is working, that's really all there is. I would check the VHS player and confirm that the sound actually works all the way through.
