Enter buttion not working

I have been using this recorder for many months with good results. Last week I noticed that the I had to hit the enter button several times in order to get it to work. A few days later it was working fine again. Then it seemed that I had to wait longer than usual before recordings or edits were processed and I could proceed. Then the enter button just quit working. Everything else seems to work fine. I can record, play back, change virtual tracks and go through all the menu options until I have to hit the enter button and then I can't go any further. I would really appreciate some help, because I use this machine a lot.

Hello, that seems to be a bad contact on the enter button, the solution is to take a part the key and clean it, otherwise you need to replace the under key switch.
Thanks

Testimonial: "Thanks, that is pretty much what I thought. I tried getting to the switch, but it looks like I have to take more of the machine apart than I am comfortable doing myself. Do you have any experience with this particular machine as to an easy way to expose the key for cleaning?"

SOURCE: My Boss RC-2 Pedal is having a problem with the

Most PROBABLE is the output jack either has been broken (common due to mishandling and accidents with cables such as stepping on the plug while plugged into the pedal) or the soldering of the jack in the pedal has broken loose. Less common is a circuit board crack in the vicinity of the jack. Open pedal and inspect for the above suggestions.

SOURCE: Hello, My Boss CS-3 Compression Sustainer

Make sure you use Alkaline battery and NOT rechargeable type... the rechargeable battery will NOT work in the pedals (their voltage is lower even though they are labeled as 9 volt replacement).

Other internal problems can be due to cracked circuit board or broken solder joints. These are very common as people step on the cables when plugged in. This breaks the connection inside. A fuzzy sound often occurs when one of the contacts is marginal due to bad solder at the jack terminals.

Enter button not working

If this is a traditional keyboard (not laptop) or extremely fancy keyboard.

Try unplugging the keyboard. Then.
  1. Take a butter knife and slide it into the crevice next to the "enter key".
  2. Apply a small amount of pressure to pry the key upward.
  3. With little effort the key should pop off or slide off.
  4. Check the spot the key was for dirt, dust, food, etc. Clean it if you must. Make sure the actual key does not have anything stuck to the bottom of it.
  5. Push the key back onto it's place on the keyboard.
  6. Plug back in and see if that worked.
If this did not work, you may need to replace the keyboard OR you may want to make sure no viruses are playing an aweful trick on you.

Hello, I have owned a Roland V Studio 20 for around 8 months now and it had worked perfectly until about 3 weeks ago when songs that I had already recorded and played back fine suddenly started getting...

Kill all spyware and anti-virus programs and internet connections and wireless WHILE doing audio work. ALL these resource HOGS **** time from your processor and cause overuns of the buffers in your audio interface.

Do a control-alt-del to bring up the Windows task manager and look at what processes are running and sucking processing time. Even things that check for updates sit there and periodically grab processing power.

When burning CD's the same goes as well... during burns, the processor needs to be purged of these interrupting resource hogs.

In the last three weeks I have been continuously hit with updates from Adobe, MS, and Sun (Java) that interrupt and **** time, often at the most inappropriate times. These continous scanners for updates MAY be what are hitting you. Do any updates and then kill and disallow updates while doing your audio work.

I have the Boss RC-50 Loopstation. It has been great. Perfect operation for about 8 months. Today, when I started to use it, I noticed that I couldn't select "Phrase 1" by tapping the pedal....

Likely the switch contacts for that pedal have failed. You will probably have to get it repaired. Stomping on the pedals is a good way to damage them, but the switches are often marginally designed anyway...

If you can access the switch you could try getting some CRC226 available at Home Depot in the electrical department into the switch, but often the internal parts of switches fail.

Yamaha PSR 530: D, F#, G in the upper octave have stopped working. last week i noticed other notes like B flat has also stopped working. How can this situation be repaired

The key contacts which are conductive rubber are dirty.

You need to disassemble to access the silicone rubber domes with the conductive rubber "pills". Carefully clean these pills using a QTip and ONLY 99% isoprophyl alcohol. Also carefully clean the circuit board where these contact.

Expert with the Fostex vf80ex Mixer? What is the success with actually producing a CD, or do you need another writer?

As long as the unit is all working properly I don't see any reason why you can't get good results.Make sure you read the manual carefully. I have one that I picked up cheap but prefer to use my desktop setup for recording as there are tons of Fx and processing patches that you can download for free. Just use good quality blank CDs and you should have no problems.
