Hi I have a Rio Grande Train set that I bought for my son. The train works but is not responding or working when we use the remote . Ive out brand new batteries in the remote the light comes on when we push the buttons on the remote but again the train wont move or respond. both the train and the remote work but they are nit working together. Please help!

I would suspect a bad switch or a bad motor.
These parts are not available anywhere that I have ever heard of.. You might go to the store you purchased it from and ask them.

Many of the MTH Protosounds 1 and 2 and Trainmaster will not work with the Lionel CW-80 electronic power source. The output waveform is so non-like sinusoidal. The electronic sound systems will not usually respond to this waveform and when they do, the sound will be garbled. Use another power source.

A train hobby shop can fix that.

I had the same problem with two of our three engines. I read somewhere that you can get them running by hitting the side of the engine against a hard surface. I can't believe it... IT WORKED! I guess the motor gets **** and hitting it will get it going. All three engines are working now.

HOLD TWO PIECES OF TRACK TOGETHER SNAP ONE SIDE TOGETHER THEN SNAP OTHER SIDE.

The wires will have pulled off the circuit board inside.

Remove screws (force a hex driver in there) and solder wire back on.

Train surgey (geddit) is very fiddly. Have a drink first! ;-)
