Carborator spitting out black oil now will not stay started more than a second. We have cleaned filter put new oil in and new gas. Can't figure out how to get carborator off to replace or clean out.
Have drained all oil out of engine and put in minimal amount but still spitting oil from when it was overfilled can't figure out how to remove carborator to clean it up to start over new. Can we just clean it out by pouring a little gas in it? or will we have to totally replace it?Have drained all oil out of engine and put in minimal amount but still spitting oil from when it was overfilled can't figure out how to remove carborator to clean it up to start over new. Honda engines have an automatic kill switch if the oil level is low...
If the oil level is good and it won't start it will be clear one of the requirements is absent.
To start and run, an engine needs compression, timing, the right amount of good, fresh fuel delivered into the combustion chamber and a sufficient spark.
Discovering which is absent is a process of elimination only you can work through...
If you have not been putting gas treatment in your gas to treat the ethenol they have been putting into the gas its a good chance its the needle valve in the carborator. If you live in a state that does not add ethenol to the gas disregard this advise.
The engine oil has become contaminated with fuel. Change the engine oil and fit an inline fuel tap and turn the tap off when not in use. This will prevent it happening again. Regards Phil.
In your carborator there is a fuel stop bubble that is lifted up when enough fuel is in the carborator that buble might be broken if i were i would look in the carborator to see if there is any fuel if there is then you probabaly have to replace that
most small lawn mowers have a carborator mounted on the gas tank. if you take the screws out and look it has a gasket and the gasket will be bad and need to be replaced also if it is a newwer model it has a primer bulb that needs to be replaced at same time.
fuel problem, the float in the carborator is stuck, if you tap on the carborator bowl it will probably get freed up.if not take the bowl off and spray the insides with carb. cleaner.
