Ice maker sotp making ice / red light blinking

J, As you open the freezer door the LED on the right should flash 2X with a pause repeatedly. When you hold the left side emmiter down the light should stay on steady. If you have this, you know the optics are good unless the ejector blades are not home. First thing to check is where the ejector blades on the ice maker are parked. They should be resting in the 2:00 position. If they are not, you could have a broken module. If they are in the 2:00 positon the next thing to check would be the fill tube. You want to make sure it is not frozen over. You can disconnect it from the back and see if you can blow through the line or visually inspect it. If all of the above mentioned check out, jump start the ice-maker. Remove the quarter inch screw holding the harness cover on the right side. Remove the harness cover. Pull the ice-maker straight out but be carefull not to smash the emmitter flap on the left side. Leave the harness connected. Get a jumper wire with the ends stripped apout a 1/4 inch. Unplug the refer and place the jumper in test holes T&H. Leave the jumper in and place the ice maker on the shelf where you can close the door. Close the door and plug the refer back in. Wait 30 seconds and open the door. The ice maker should be cycleing. Pull the jumper and place the module cover back on. Put the ice maker back in the rails. It should fill at approx the 12:00 position. Let me know how you make out. Catriver.

GE Profile Side by Side PCF25PGTAWW Ice maker started to leak inside several weeks ago. Ice column formed inside back of freezer and on shelves. Removed ice and turned off ice maker. Refer and freezer...

when you removed the back panel if you look on the right side you'll see a round coil next to the fan you have to clean that out at least once a year,if you get a shop vac you can vac off the coil and then set it to blow and blow the coil out to clean it,if your food is staying clod you don't have a problem, when the machine goes into defrost there's a heater in the freezer that melts the ice off of the coil, when it comes on the temp will get warmer for like a half hour or so until it comes out of defrost and starts to cool again.hope this helps

Clicking noise coming from back of refer. Push in water dispenser, noise stops, no water.... Ice maker is working but not really good.

Is it time to replace your water filter?
Check water supply line at the back of the refer for good pressure and flow.

Why would the water start coming out very slow?

If you are referring to water coming out the fountain it could be a leak in the system somewhere allowing air into the lines that run the water, if you are referring to water coming out of the ice maker itself you need a new ice maker the lining is bad

Ice maker Kenmore Side by side

You have two separate solenoids to your ice and water. One controls the water the other the ice maker. Check the ice maker solenoid and see if it is getting 110v to it and is opening. You will find it in back of the refer under the cardboard panel. Just follow the hoses.

Ice Maker not getting water Kenmore Side/Side 53642

2 things that could be wrong with these ice makers (Red light is solid, but no water to ice maker and My ice maker does not make ice and water is appearing on the floor). Either you have a defective water valve or your incoming tube is iced up. 2 ways to check:

1. Check your ice maker valve which is at the bottom of the refer. To find follow the water line into the back of the refer. it should connect to the water valve. Check and make sure there is 125V to the valve when it is in fill mode. Or look for and open condition at the solenoid (you check for open with a meter). When checking across the leads you shouldn't get any meter movement at all.

2. Remove the ice maker or the port that comes into the ice maker on the back of the refer (it is usually held in with 2 screws). Make sure it is not frozen up. If it is sometimes if you take regular insulation and pack it into the area where the port comes in that can stop the freezing problem.

Good Luck!
God Bless

Ice maker for kenmore 77181791

check the fill tube at the back of the freezer for ice build up. (top if it is an ice in door model) if it is plugged use hair drier to defrost. if not iced up run the ice maker and listen carefully for the water valve to come on. if you dont hear it check the voltage to it with a meter or check the contnuity of the valve. good luck
