Epson Powerlite 7300 Display Problem

We have a Powerlite 7300 that just started displaying a thin yellow veritcal line all down the right hand side of the screen. Does this mean a new cable, lamp, or possible something inside blocking the lens? Thanks!

I've had this projector since 2003 enjoyed it once or twice back them

Boom........Same issue with one and two above. lines and double image.

    Here i am 2008

    The real question is.....

    1) Can this be fixed DIY?

    2) If not, Is the fix common for a repair shop (whats the $ ball park repair cost).....make up a value for the reply if you wish?

    3) Is it good for scraps or should i drop it in the trash. I am hands on... Soo just need to know valuable components

I have a thin yellow line running from top to bottom about 10 inches from the left side, what's wrong?

This can be due to faulty LCD driver IC which creates a noise bar and is shown. Check the cords to the display and also the ground connection to the display. If this is good then the IC can be faulty.

PowerLite 83+ Multimedia Projector display is yellow.

Check the video connection. It's probably not making a good connection.

Epson Powerlite 7300, misalignment of lenses.

By lenses I think you mean LCD panels, and yes there are glue down. there is a chance that the panel managed to unglue it self with time. another thing is you might just have a ghosting image. this indicates a bad lcd panel. What color seems to be out of alignment?

Display is not the right color

This generally means there is a fault with the cable between pc and projector. If you have a spare VGA lead try it and see if that fixes it.

Also make sure that the cable is tightly pushed onto both ends

Thin yellow line on the right of the LCD Screen

all those sounding intelligent and saying that replacing lcd hardware will fix the problem probably didnt have the problem themseleves . i had exactly same problem with samsung syncmaster 2043swx monitor . i just restarted and booted into safe mode ( by pressing F8 key at startup ) tried changing reolution in display settings . rebooted in normal mode and asll lines are gone and never appear again . i am uisng windows Vista . so i think it is probably a driver glitch something .
