My Vinotemp VT60 makes a clunking sound

It just started making this noise 3 months ago and I've had the fridge for over 3 years now. It sounds like the sound of expanding sheet metal. I took the back off and it still makes the noise. The noise happens randomly, sometimes right after the compressors shuts off and sometimes when the unit is just sitting there. Very frustrating as the unit is in our family media room. Unit seems to act normal. Help!

My vinotemp vt60 starts cooling then stops

I sounds to me like the compressor is overheating. There is an overload on the compressor itself. Follow the wires where they go into the compressor. There will be a black wire going from the power cord to the overload. These can be purchased at appliance parts stores. Make sure there is no dirt build up on condenser coils or a kink in the tubing.

My vt60 winw cooler doesnt cool , it will show the degrees you want to set it at then few seconds later it goes back to the room temp. of 76...also makes clicking noise to start compressor then again a...

Sounds like the compressor is frozen - sound you hear is the clixon a special sort of resettable fuse on compressors. When they do not start or overheat, it kills the power - when it cools power is restored until it reheats again and .......................

Use ammeter to confirm this - it will show a much greater than normal current draw.

We have an 11 year old fisher-paykel fridge .For past 6 months several times a day it makes a loud knocking noise

If this noise happens when the compressor turns on and shuts off it is called a compressor knock. All the internal workings of the compressor are supported by springs, over time the springs wear out and become weak. When the compressor stops or starts the tourq causes the internal parts to hit aginst the casing of the compressor. Sounds like a clunk clunk clunk noise. If you can deal with the noise do not go out and replace the compressor cause it will work just fine like that.

Kenmore fridge, about 8 years old, making noise

The compressor on your fridge is mounted on rubber grametts and inside the dome the internal parts the do the pumping of the refrigerant are mounted on springs. When a compressor gets old some people complain about two much vibrating, this could be the rubber grommets the support the compressor. When one of the support springs inside the compressor is broken it will have a distinct rapping sound when the compressor shuts off. There isn`t anything you can do about this, short of replacing the compressor. It will eventually get worse untill something is seriously broken inside the compressor and the compressor will die. You may want to consider replacing the compressor now or purchase a new fridge. You will need to consider the cost of both and the age of the fridge" Is it worth repairing?". You can actualy find a repair company in your area from this site if you like, and compare the costs.I hope I have helped explained the problem well enough for you. I will help you as much as I can.
