I have a Yamaha Clarinet serial number 004828 what does that mean?

Who is the maker of the Clarinet? Yamaha? Buffet Crampon & Cie? Jean-Paul student clarinet?

Not sure about the serial #... but 'C' clarinets are not common.
They are slightly shorter (2" perhaps? ) than the far more common Bb clarinet.

Help Identifying My Clarinet

Make sure of your serial number. Then take it to a music store that deals with clarinets. You need to know what type/brand of clarinet you before you can know. I do know that Selmer #'s are nowhere close to the serial $ you provided.

As with any hardware, you need to supply a "brand name" or manufacturer and what the "model number" is. Of course, a model number is not a serial number. Even within a brand, each model may have its own set of serial numbers. I suggest you do a google search for "brand serial numbers" replacing the word brand with your specific brand. That's the serial #. I can't look up any Yamaha info by serial #. I you go to www.yamaha.com click on musical instruments, then support, you can call or email them directly to get model, product info, owners guides can be downloaded, warranty info and replacement parts can be found.
