well I guess I should let you know, that it was fine untill I was messing around with the Fn button - to see what it can do.... and I think since then it stopped working... optical mouse is fine....

The game has some software which made the computer to lock its mousepad up. There's a way to unlock it after playing the game. Just press FN and F7 keys altogether. It should work.
if you take a hard look at your laptop you'll probably find a key that to disable keyboard that with fn will do it

also check in control panel mouse then device settings see if you disabled in there
Found a nice solution at another website: switch off the pc, unplug the power supply cable AND remove battery. Press "on" switch for 20 seconds. Now re-install battery, plug back power supply cable, and switch on. Worked for me (what exactly worked for me I don't know but hey)
