My polaroid 15.4" HD widescreen LCD TV, model number TLA-01511C, goes black after a few minutes of viewing. I turn it on and all seems fine, then it goes black. I still hear the sound. In order to get the picture back i have to power down then back on. However it goes black shortly thereafter.
Check your LCD inverter maybe there is loss connection or some parts damage from inverter.
If the TV keeps working, but the screen goed suddenly dim and dark after a while, that can only be caused by a bad inverter board or a bad LCD controller board.
Parts must be tested by a technician before replacement.

thanks but how do i ccheck the inverter
I turn the television on and the picture and sound come on and maybe
two minutes into viewing the picture goes out but the sound remains on.
The television is only like a year old what could be the cause of this
problem?
I've got the same problem as described, and with the same model. Really frustrating as it is only a year old and just outside the warranty period. Have emailed Polaroid about it.
