Kenmore microwaves are made by several manufacturers. The E-13 error may indicate a humidity sensor issue or a problem with the control board. It could also be an issue with the wiring between the sensor and the control board. Try unplugging (or turning off the circuit breaker to) the microwave for at least 30 seconds. This may reset the error. If the problem recurs, the sensor or the control board may need to be replaced. Microwaves can store an enormous amount of power in the capacitor and may be dangerous. Repairs are best done by a professional.
I hope this helps.

(The E-13 code diagnostics above apply to Samsung-made microwaves.)
Error code for a shorted membrane keypad switch. Manufacturer suggests unplugging the unit for an extended period of time to see if the control panel will clear the code. If not, then you probably have a defective switch.
Had the same problem on my Samsung SMH9187. The two latches are cheap plastic. After watching a video on U tube on how to get the door apart, I fixed it with a paper clip and ordered the parts online (two years later I still have the paper clip holding the plastic latch in place). Look for the SE error to happen next, its not made very good.
Maybe Just Lucky; I removed the front cover above the door by removing the two screws on top of micro. Then I removed the screw above the controll panel and carefully lifted off the panel. I checked all wire connections while plugged in and the SE code changed to 0. I reset the clock and put the panels back on. Done Loose Wire
