Can't turn on wireless on computer

Hi tracie23368... There's a wireless toggle on the front to control to rurn on the onboard Atheros 802.11b/g WLAN module. All you should have to do is push that toggle in the front of your machine to the right or to the left and hold for a few seconds which will turn on the Atheros wireless card in your laptop. Then it should hook to your wireless router. Note...If you have the security set on the wireless, it will have to be also set in the laptop to be able to hook to your router Please take time to rate me thumbs up

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

I would take an ethernet cable which looks like a phone cord only a little thicker and plug it into your wireless router. If your computer gets on the internet then you know that it is simply a wireless setting. Then all you need to do is login to your router and modify the settings in the router. If you tell me what kind of wireless router you are using I could help you with that.

A couple of things to try, install the latest wireless card driver in the computer/laptop.
Check the wireless card configuration in the computer/laptop, it needs the router's wireless settings eg. SSID and encryption etc.

Basically the wireless card in the laptop needs to be configured with your wireless router's setings.
To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps: -
1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable.
2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address.
3. Enter the router setup, login and password
4. Change the admin password
5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA).
7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router.
8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings.
9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router.
10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router wirelessly.

attach your wireless router with modem then turn on the pc .. there is a pin whole at back of wireless router pin it in it would reset all of your setting . than go to internet explorer address bar type the IP 192.168.1.1 ususaly and the passward would be admin as well as user name .. then set the setting according to your requirment with out opposing IP ..than first turn of every thing computer modem router
then after 20 min first switch on the wireless router then modem and then your computer .. you will get connected through wireless router..

You don't need a router for the laptop it has a wireless card in it already, buy a router for your home PC and I would buy a linksys with cap 5 network cables and wireless connections so you can use the printer off of the home computer PC. If you have high speed Internet you can request for a router for free with a wireless and cap 5-cable capacity.

Have you checked the driver in Device manager if it is installed properly?
