Try first to reset it to the factoty settings by pressing the brown button on the back of the unit, next to the Internet connection. You will have to reprogram the router with your PPPoE settings, if any, and your wireless security.

Worked fine up till yesterday now wireless wont work

The wireless cards in the computers need to be configured with the router's wireless settings so the computers can connect to the wireless router.
Resetting the wireless router back to the factory defaults will not let the computers connect to the wireless router without configuring the network card in the computers with the router's wireless settings.
I suggest you configure your wireless router with encryption settings to prevent unauthorized persons accessing your wireless network and Internet connection and your computers.

Have RV042 set up with Cox Cable and ATT DSL. System works fine as long as all client computers on network have a Static IP. I have DHCP enabled on the Router, when connecting a PC set for DHCP the router...

> everything is good

The connection between each computer and the router is the "good" part.

Thus, the router is routing packets "between" each of the computers (clients & servers) within your local area network.

However, your problem seems to be on the 'WAN' (Wide Area Network) side, namely between the router's WAN port and the DSL-modem, and/or between the DSL-modem and the telephone-jack on the wall, and/or the telephone-wires inside your walls, and/or the telephone-wires from the outside of your building to the nearest telephone company's CO (Central Office).

As a test, disconnect the router from the DSL-modem, and directly connect one computer, to see if the "then it will/not" behaviour still happens when the router is not active, i.e., "bypassed".
Then, contact your ISP, and get them to trouble-shoot while that one computer is connected.

We plugged in the modem yesterday and ran the router and set up our wireless network. Everything was working fine on both our computers with our wireless network and neither one of us were plugged into the...

Your Wireless Router may have its name not broadcasting or hidden, check in the settings if it's hidden then manually connect your P.C.'s Laptops ,you won't find it using 'search for network'. Just right click on wireless icon near clock, select 'Open network and sharing center' and right click it. Now select 'Set up a new connection or network', Select 'Manually connect to a wireless network' and fill in the gaps. should work fingers crossed.

My internet keeps dro, i have installed filters ,

There is one case where everything is fine but still connection drops too often.---
This happens when the network type of your laptop is "public" as ublic networks are less secure, routers usually drop connections after sme time. Change the network type to "private". This should solve your problem. There is one more setting in your router where is says something like "automatically login when disconnected". Selecting this option allows automatically login to ISP when connection is dropped from ISP temporarily.

If network connectivity itself is the problem then you can debug followingly.

Step-1:
If ISP company says everything is fine from their side, then you need to check your router. To confirm this first connect the wall outlet of ISP to your laptop and check network connectivity. If there is problem, then ISP has to fix it.

Step-2:
If connection works fine then ISP is fine and you need to check your router settings. Now check network connectivity by connecting the laptop to the router through a ethernet wire. If the network does not work then your router hardware could be wrong and may need servicing or replacement. If this works fine then go to step-3.

Step-3:
Try resetting your router by using a paperclip. Usually the reset button can be found at the backside of your router. This will reset all the settings and there by making as good as a fresh one. Try to access internet from a place close to router where router signal is strong.
Change authentication and other network settings of your router to connect to ISP. Now network should work fine. Ensure that you set router password to avoid unauthorized access to your router by others.

Can't Connectda

Hi,

Restore your router to factory settings, then give your PS3 a static IP address and go into your router interface, find the DMZ feature and put in the IP address that you gave the PS3, just make sure the IP you give it is within the DHCP pool of IP addresses on the router.

The PS3 will now be sat outside the routers firewall giving you FULL access to internet content and gaming online.

Now test connection settings and you will notice you will now have an open connection to the internet.

Thanks

I have a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network card on my Toshiba Satellite M50. One fine day, it was working fine on the network at home, and then suddenly got disconnected, and soon after stopped being...

I have the same card with Tecra A4. It was working fine with a D-Link 615 wireless router then for no reason it stop working I was able to detect my wirless network but no communication session started between my card and the router. I restrat the router and change the OS fro Linux to XP but still I have the same problem.

At the end I notice that in simple words my card cannot talk at all with the router. So I went to the router wirless settings and change the protocol from:
mixed 802.11 N, mixed 802.11 G, mixed 802.11 B
to only
802.11 G and 802.11B

Then it works fine onb both Linux and XP

Router Suddenly stopped working...?

try power cycling your network (turn off all of the hardware)
First turn off the computer,
second, the router;
lastly the router (wgr614).

Now, turn the hardware in this order:
  1. Turn on Modem. Wait 2 minutes.
  2. Turn on Router (wgr614). wait 1 minute.
  3. Now turn on the Computer(s).
this should refresh your internet connection. If not, check your routers settings for any wrong info.
to access your router's homepage, type this (http://www.routerlogin.net) into Internet Explorer.
