Release stuck float valve honda cbr 1988 carb

You may need to completely clean the carb with a carb cleaner. If bike was setting over winter and not started, the old gas breaks down leaving grime on internal carb parts. I understand the gas now-a-days with 10% ethinol breaks down after about 2 months.
A carb kit can be purchased with new parts that can
also help in most cases.

I have a toro super cycler gts 5 model 20475 6.0 engine i put new gas in it a new spark plug but if i loosen the gas bowl no gas come out and it wont start what could be wrong

Ensure fresh gas is in tank. Follow gas line from tank to carb. Have locking pliers ready to pinch off gas line or close gas line valve. Remove gas line from carb. observe gas flow to carb. Remove carb bowl from bottom of carb. Attach gas line to carb. Does gas flow to carb. Observe float, float down gas flows, float up no gas flow. If float is bad replace float assembly or carb. Remove float mounting pin and needle metering valve. Use a bread wrapper pealed back an inch so thin wire can clean out port of meter needle. Use wire to clean out center port. Observe bowl screw look for hole thru screw, clean out with wire if preset. Re-assemble carb. Clean replace air filter. Fill oil. 30w. Prime motor, pull rope 10 times to start. No start, replace carb.

I cleaned the carbs it ran great for 10 miles and then began flooding.replaced the gross jets in float bowles. ran good but had to pull of carbs again to fix float bowl leaking now it floods so badly it...

Sounds like you need to check the needle and seat for dirt etc. or one of your floats may be sticking. A simple way to check is to connect the fuel pipe to carbs upside down with float bowl off and you will see if it is leaking or not. If that is ok then make sure that the floats are not sticking or holed. Test again by inverting the carbs again with no fuel in them and you should not be able to blow into the chamber until you turn the carbs to normal position. Hope that helps.

Engine runs for short time then cuts off homelight 2700 psi power washer

There are 2 different enigines on these depending upong your actual unit model number.
One had a Subaru 175 cc engine and the other was a Honda engine. For carb specifics I need the ENGINE model number. Either way... here is what you need to do:
1. Fuel selector off.
2. Remove main fuel line from the carb.
3. Use a spray can lid and check FLOW. It should fill the lid in under 8 seconds. (Feul selector OFF now) If you do not have good fuel flow here you need to inspect the tank exit port, in line fuel filter if used and the sediment bulb under the fuel selector for debris
(GOOD FUEL FLOW NOW)
4. Remove the float bowl by unscrewing the bowl nut from the bottom of the carb. NOTE positon of gaskets as you remove float bowl. Use carb cleaner and direct a spray hopefully with mini extension tube of the carb nozzle into the center of the threaded area of the bowl nut. (This cleans main fuel jet orifice / pin hole) Then spray carb cleaner using mini nozzle extension up the flat side of the float needle until carb cleaner exits the main fuel line connection. Last spray from the main fuel line connection to the float needle (reversed spray)

This usually removes any debris from the float bowl. main fuel jet and main fuel manifold Reinstall the main fuel line.
- Turn on the fuel selector and use the spray paint can lid under the float to catch fuel. It should fill in 8 to 10 seconds to the point your worried about over-flow.
- GENTLY lift the float needle to the level position. FUEL MUST STOP.
- Lower Float to resting position. FUEL MUST FLOW so that it would fill the spray paint can lid in 8 to 10 seconds. (FUEL SLECTOR OFF)

Clean the bowl nut and reinstall the float bowl. Turn on the fuel.. wait 30 seconds for the float bowl to fill completely and start unit. If it runs GREAT... If it only runs with the choke on you still have a fuel supply problem...i.e most likely the main fuel just in the threaded area of the bowl nut is still clogged. .

19e412-0134-01 won't start. gas leaks out air

The float is stuck on the carb flooding the engine and leaking gas out of air filter. Remove the float bowl after the gas is turned of or drained. Thoroughly clean carb And bowl with carb cleaner. Reove the float {very carefully} if it is copper, shake it. If you here fuel in it then it is no good. If not then clean everything and reassemble. If it needs to be replaced, most small engine repair shops will have your parts.

My 2005 Honda Shadow VLX 600 is leaking a lot of gasoline on the right side under the air filter. It has 10 miles on it. Total, never been out on it. Its been sitting in my garage for a couple years.

Either a carb float is stuck open or some trash is holding the float needle open. Remove the float bowl and use spray carb cleaner to remove any trash, or varnish, ( from evaporated fuel ).

Carbi keeps flooding started fine and rode for 10 mins then cut and wont start unless i drain the carbi and turn petrol of then starts for around 10 seconds then cuts out its a peewee 50 2010 model

the float inside the carb is probably stuck in the open position...you may need to remove the carb and have an overhaul kit installed in it....if you stored the unit without draining the fuel from the tank AND the carb, then the fuel probably went bad and has become "varnished". This fuel degradation can cause the float to stick and clog up the main and idle jets

Last Saturday i open and clean the carb, change the spark plug of my italjet millennium 150 because it wont start after doing it yehey engine was running and made a few adjusment and rode the bike for 3...

most likely the float has become stuck in the closed position.
Check to make sure fuel is still running out of the petcock
Open the drain on the Carb (should be located near the bottom) turn on the petcock. Fuel should flow from the drain freely. If not then the float needle is either jammed or some thing else is inside the carb stopping fuel from flowing into the bowl.

Hi ya got a old ish tiller in for repair, it is a ISEKI AC40 problem is hard to start & when it starts it will only run for about 10 seconds, so far checked plug which has a good spark, compression ok,...

From your description we will assume it is flooding. If you suspect float problem, check float level, holding the carb upside down the float should be parallel to carb body when needle seat is closed. On metal floats this is accomplished by bending the tab that rides on the needle, units with plastic floats you may have to replace it. Also remove float and shake it, should not be any gas in the float, this will make it flood. Also set carb adjustment screw at 1.5 turns out, may need a little tweek from there.

91Mazda 626 dies suddenly after 10 minutes running fine

I had the same,drove me nuts,made sure of fuel and spark(about 10 times),all good.anyway after it stopped looked under bonnet to find petrol coming out of carb,(didn't notice this before because the petrol had evaporated by the time i looked).took carb apart ,cleaned and checked jets,all resonable.Then i looked at the float seemed good but checked by putting into boiling water only to find small bubbles coming out of the float !!!!! thus float not floating right, too much petrol and flooding and then stopping.But let it cool down and everything sorts itself out and your good for another 10 minutes.You can check for air leeks by spraying wd40 around suspected areas and looking for bubbles.am no expert but hope this helps.
In short air leaks bad. Float not floating bad.
