Cannot access menu functions or display signal on projector

I am trying to use this item from my Laptop, but can get no signal. I'm certain that the signal is going to the projector, but I get a blank screen, and am unable to access the menu from the control panel on top of the projector. In fact, none of the buttons on the control panel seem to have any effect. HELP!

If you cannot access the menu, you have a main board issue that requires replacement.

HELP PLEASE!!! NEC NP-V260 Computer In can not detect signal from the Computer

Which connection type are you trying to use (VGA, HDMI, etc). It would help to know what kind of computer you are using and whether you are using the projector as the only display or trying to do multiple displays.</br>
If using a laptop then check and see if you have a key to switch displays. It will usually be one of the function keys (F4, F5, etc) and will most likely be a secondary action of the key requiring you to hold down your FN key then push the function key. This will switch between your laptop's outputs.</br>
If using a desktop you need to go to your display properties. Win7 right click the desktop and go to Screen Resolution. You need to make sure that the Multiple Displays setting is set to Duplicate These Displays or Extend These Displays to make sure that the display adapter is sending a signal to the projector.

My Windows XP is connected to my Epson Powerlite S3, but the screen is blue with the words Source: Computer (Auto) No Signal on it. When I click "Help" on the projector, it takes me to a screen...

'No signal' and 'unsupported signal' messages mean 1 of 2 things, either the VGA output is off(laptop) or the display resolution is set too high(laptop and desktop). Assuming the VGA cable you are using is good, try this:

Desktop: hook the computer back up too your computer monitor & set the computer to the basic VGA resolution. For windows XP, right click a blank area on the desktop, click 'properties' on the dropdown menu, click settings. Write down the numbers in the 'screen resolution' and 'color quality' boxes!

Drag the 'screen resolution' all the way down to then 'less' side. Then change the 'color quality' to the lowest setting. Click apply, then answer yes (the display will look UGLY - don't worry!!) Now connect your computer back to your projector. If it works, then the resolution you use on your desktop monitor is not supported on your projector. Experiment with different resolutions to see which one looks best on your projector. You will need to change the settings each time you switch monitor to projector.

Laptop: by default the VGA connector on your laptop is off. To turn it on, look for a blue symbol on one of your function (F1, F2, F3...) keys. It looks like an old TV with a line on both sides 'O' (F4 on HP) Press & hold the blue button (on the lower left of the keyboard, usually to the left of control ) and tap the bleu button you just found. Let go & give you're a computer a few seconds to change over. If the laptop screen goes blank, you found the correct button! The display image should now be visible. Repeat this 1 to 2 times to change it back to laptop display.

If you did not see the display on the projector, 2 other issues are possible. First, verify that the VGA output on the laptop is working - connect the laptop to a regular computer monitor & change the display resolution to the lowest settings (see desktop above), then try it again on the projector. If you cannot get an image on a computer monitor, your laptop settings may need to be adjusted in the same dialogue box as the settings. Monitor #1 is the laptop display, Monitor #2 is the external output.
Happy viewing :)

Laptop on, presentation loaded, projector funtioning and will show menu on projector screen but no presentation will display. What else do I need to do, please?

You may have to adjust the resolution your notebook is displaying at in order to make it compatible with the resolutions that will work with your scanner.

For example, most new notebooks display at 1380x760 or 1440x900, which are 16:9 ratios most suitable for movies.

Most projectors display at resolutions with ratios of 4:3, like 1024x768.

For Windows, right-click on a clear area of the Desktop and choose Properties... or Screen Resolution. Change the resolution to match your projector.

I am connecting the VGA cable but still no signal can u pl help

There are two things to try. One is on your laptop. Hit function 4 on your keyboard. You should pop into a screen that allows you to send signal out from your laptop to the projector. The other is to go into the menu on the projector and adjust it for either the port you are on or set it up for "auto-detect" When the menu comes up it should have a video section and then an input select. Your VGA inputs on the projector should be labeled something like VGA 1, VGA 2 or something like that identifying the ports. Then in the menu select that port. If these two things do not work give me another posting and we can get this fixed.

I have a Hitachi CP-L500 LCD projector. It is connected to my laptop from the svga projector port to the svga port on the the laptop. It is making no signal connection. I have made sure the input button...

I am not familiar with your Hitachi LCD projector . However , I do have a little knowledge regarding video signals and inputs / outputs as well as connections . If your connecting cable is one piece (has no adapters added to either end of it ) I would believe your problem is simply a settings misconfiguration in your projector / computer , or both . First , access your startup BIOS / CMOS settings during the initial booting sequence in your computer by pressing F1 or whichever keys you press when you turn the computer on to access it . Then , in the advanced list , check your primary video input selection to be sure it is default. Then, once the computer is completely booted and you can click on your start selection , go to your video settings and check how to switch between internal and external display options . I say this because it is important that you are able to reroute your video signal to your SVGA Out from the laptop (for sure) and it is in fact in that video output mode. Once you're sure you have a signal going out of laptop through that port , go to your projector video input selections menu and select each and every input option available until the signal comes through . This will only work if you're absolutely 100% sure that your video signal is in fact leaving the laptop via the SVGA port connection .

My dell 5100mp is not getting signal from my IBM laptop

Hello.

Check your VGA cable (from laptop to projector) to be certain it is secure. Wiggle it to see if anything changes. Could be faulty.

Check the Function keys on the top row of your laptop. Note which key has "CRT/LCD" or an icon of a display. Hold down your Fn key and press that key. Try again and again and hopefully you will get a display from your projector.

Hope this helps.

I connect the projector to my dell laptop and "no signal" displays and no picture.

You need to hold down Fn (function) button and press F4 to route the video signal to the video port. It may be F5., If you have done that check to see if you selected the correct input on your projector through its menu.

What settings should I use for acer x1260 to dell d520 laptop? Projector says "no signal" - have changed avg cable - no difference.

The max resolution on the projector is 1024x768. But the problem you're having sounds suspiciously like the laptop not sending out a video signal...you have to *tell* the laptop to send out an image to an external display. On one of the function keys, like F4 or F8, there will be a small TV screen symbol. You have to press and hold "alt" and then press the key with the symbol. The initial setting is obviously for the laptop only. When you press the keys for the first time, you tell the laptop share the picture with an external display (your projector). Press the keys a second time, and the laptop ONLY displays an image from the projector. And, press the combination again, you're back to just the laptop. The DLP projector should have a menu selection for "auto" under the input menu...that is the easiest and most trouble-free setting. Whatever you connect to the projector, it automatically seeks out the signal and connects to it.---Rick

No Signal when plugging into laptop

On your laptop you have the ability to toggle the external display on/off/both. On several laptops I see, it is a combo of teh Function Key+F4 (or F5). The key for your laptop (you did not provide type) should be marked with an image of a projection screed or a monitor in a color matching function key; often blue.

With everything connected, press these keys to toggle from Laptop Display Only to Projector Only to Both.

If the problem is not your laptop, then verify the input source that the projector is looking for via it's menus or a button on the remote. Toggle the source if required.
