Where is the elusive filter located? I thought it was hiding under the flap thing at the bottom but I can't for the life of me work out where it is

It is located under the van on the drivers side. Replacement is just taking off the hose clamps and the clamp that holds it to the bottom of the van.It is suggested that you remove the fuel pump fuse and allow the van to run until it stalls to remove the fuel pressure from the filter.It is hiding under this cover

Tape it under the appliance

Best way is DO NOT use the spring.Use a common elastic at the bottom of the folding flap run around the flap to a short small screww you would drill into the plastic under the door.This lasts longer than the spring and when it gets tired,just replace with another elastic,lasts for years and works better.

With any washing machine the filter is located at the bottom front and under flap unscrew plug.Beware water will come out.

OE is normally down to blocked drain pipes, mcalpine (connection under the sink) or a blocked front filter. empty the machine and unscrew the filter behind the flap at the bottom right hand side, check for any obstructions, icoins, hair grips etc are normally blocking here

Check the pump filter. This is located at the bottom front right of washer. Look for a drop down flap or cover, once located, unscrew filter anti-clockwise to remove and clean. Be prepared for a lot of water and junk. If you find a closed hose pipe when you remove the drop down flap it is to drain excess water.
The pump itself is directly behind the filter housing, check if there is nothing stuck in the housing, especially after you are cleaning out your filter after a long time. Clean out and refit carefully

sounds like a flap is stuck or non operative ,first thing to do is check the vacumn pipes that may run to a connection on the firewall,being a euroepeon mechanic i have seen one but for this year then i would expect it to have climatic control via a computer and this allows the vacumn to open the appropiate internal flap to direct the air flow ,just had a thought and it hurt my one brain cell ,is the pollen filter clean??

The first step to changing the air filter is to find it. Before opening the hood open the owner's manual and find the page that reveals locations of under hood service points. There will be an illustration that makes it easy to find where the air filter box is. If there is no owner's manual, open the hood and look for either a football-sized box opposite the battery or large circular unit or flat panel box atop the engine. Note locations and types of fasteners, clips, and hold downs before removing anything. Take care in not damaging the air flow sensor. These are often located near or in the air box. To remove the filter

Turn the handle anti-clockwise to release the filter combination - 1
a. Lift the filter combination out of the dishwasher - 2
b. Remove any coarse particles and rinse the filter well under running water. Use a nylon brush if necessary.


To clean the inside of the filter, the flap must be opened:
^ Press together the catches in the direction of the arrows -1 as shown,
and open the filter -2 .
^ Rinse all the filters under running water.
^ Then close the flap so that the catch engages.
