I have a Samsung HLN437WX DLPTV. The problem that I've been having is that the TV will be on and suddendly I will lose the picture. I get a 'freeze' picture but it goes to a half-shade black color...the sound continues to come over. I've had this happen several times now. Sometimes the TV will work fine for several hours, then this will happen. Recently, it will happen within minutes of turning the TV on. Does this mean the lamp bulb needs to be replaced? Thanks

This is not a signal problem nor a connection or wiring problem. This is a problem within the TV. Again, I'm getting a freeze frame of black pixels with the sound continuing to work. This can happen quickly after the TV is turned on(recently) or as in the past, not happen for quite a while.
I have the same problem. I have replaced my color wheel about two years ago. I am on my third bulb over the life of the tv. To me it seems like a circut board problem, or some kind of micro switch problem. I do belive it is a heat related issue. Mine will go out after prolonged use. If I shut it off and let the fan run the full cool down cycle and turn back on it will only work well for a few moments. If I unplug the tv and let it sit a few moments then turn it back on it will last a little longer befor blackout. Tv works great untill one of the many important connections gets interupted. Things we know for sure is the lamp is still good. The color wheel is still spinning and doing its job. Is thier a seperate controler for the dlp chip set? Or it could be the chip set it self is the problem. I still in the blackout broblem get some small color flutters across the screen. So the chip is still trying to do something but for the most part the chip is not reflecting the image. 99% of the pixals are turn off. Hope this helps or jogs somebody in to thinking of a fix. I know just enough to be distructive. Thanks for reading.
