Amana lwa90al washer, need to replace seal at the bottom of tub. When I removed the bleach dispensor, I don't see how to remove the aggitator. I don't see a bolt or nut to remove it. Thanks, Dave

Gunk gets on clothes-stains them,i pulled agitator out and cleaned it off ran bleach thru-its better but still getting on clothes

The problem may be the seal on the transmission failing. If this happens, grease from the transmission (necessary for it to function) will leak and float (recall from science class that oil is less dense that water) up into the washer. As the grease enters the tub, it stains your clothes.

My Amana NAV2330AWW (S/N12279742EP) has been in service for six years. It has begun making a loud squealing, friction-like noise at the spin cycle. I removed the agitator assembly after being told it...

Hello,

Firstly i want to apoligize for the quesionable advice,some on here or elsewhere on the net fixed their washer and suddenly their are experts!!
Now Then as you know your washer is made by Amana/Speed Queen and has no agitator dogs(a quick search of parts breakdown will show anybody that) it also has no spin tube (aka basket drive),the brake pads which it does have would squeal only when washer stops spinning if they were bad just like squalling brakes on or vehicle the are quite till applied if bad,what the most likely cause of the noise is going to be the tub bearing,it is on the bottom of the outer tub. The inner and outer tub must be removed,it is advisable if replacing the tub bearing that you also replace the tub seal since it may not seal correctly once taken apart and leak badly.The hub taht connect inner tub to transmission must be removed so ya can remove the outer tub it requires a special wrench which is not to expensive but nothing else will work. IF ya want to go ahead and repair this the part numbers are;
TUB BEARING 40004201P
TUB SEAL 35-5655-1
SPANNER WRENCH 306P4

PROCESS TO REPLACE BEARING;
unplug power
remove front panels
remove screws holding top to cabinet
remove plastic tub cover by down slightly and lift tabs
remove agitator
remove bolts from hub under agitator and remove inner tub
use that spanner wrench and a hammer on nut on hub and remove nut in counterclockwise direction by hitting wrench w/hammer
lift off hub
remove rubber tub seal
remove all springs from outer tub by locking on vise grips and pull springs off
remove bolts holding outer tub to the to tub support
pull off outer tub and set down so bottom is facing up
remove old bearing and install new old
reassamble in reverse order

to order parts order from sears or for a cheaper price by a little rearsch from

Trying to remove aggitator from maytag atlantis I removed fabric softener part need to get the shaft of aggitator off trying to clean my softener keeps leaking out after wash is done

i believe all you have to do is put your fingers underneath the bottom of the agitator and pull up and the whole agitator pops up to remove it out of the tub.

Can bearings be removed without removing the drum itself on a wma54

sorry no its a big job but here goes isolate from electric and power remove lid and rear bottom cover.
remove soap drawer and remove screws you can see behind it then remove fascia, then undo the door seal and plinth cover ,then remove front panel.
then remove dispensor hose from tub, go to the back remove sump hose and motor and wiring to element then remove top front sub frame and undo the top and bottom weights then remove the pins that hold the suspension legs to the tub lift off the springs and the tub is free.
Then split the tub knock out the old replace with new that is assuming you dont damage the shaft of the drum support whilst removing il then do it all in reverse this normally takes me 2 hours it might take you 2 days but hey lifes full of challenges good luck

Bleach leaking on floor

hiya was a bit puzzled at this one ? but will try to help not certain re your machine about bleach in dispensor but consulted the wife about bleach in our machine and no where in the manual does it mention use of bleach only softeners ? however you mention dispensor does not dispense ? try this? remove/pull out drawer and clean out the machine where drawer fits of any residue powder alsi the softener dispensor remove from drawer and ensure the cap is good fit on the dispensor tube ? if loose? then the dispensor will not work as it is emptied of softener//bleach by syphon effect ie as like toilet flush? as water enters rises to tor of tube then the fluid in compartment is syphoned along with water that is entering on rinse? cycle so if no syphon? water will o/flow/fill the drawer on l/h side and may o/flow leak from drawer ?? hope this helps? and you understand the syphon effect for using softeners ? ps i may be mistaken about use of bleach but prior apologies if iam wrong

Maytag Washer: How to Remove Tub

Under the agitator is a flat nut with notches in it. this nut requires a spanner wrench that will fit into the notches. You can use a large channel lock plier. rotate the nut counter-clockwise. under the nut will be a seal. remove the nut and the seal and pull up on the inner tub. to replace you'll need to replace the seal. if the nut isn't too chopped up, use this to refasten the tub.
