SOURCE: cartridge not installed message

This worked for me
Each toner cartridge has a small green chip with 3 gold-colored contacts on it. First thing to try is to rub those contacts with an ordinary pencil eraser. You will need to rotate the toner carousel to get to all 4 sets of them. To get it to rotate, there is a little square-ish hole in the white plastic housing to the right of the toner cartridge that is visible when the top cover is raised. Push a pen down in the hole, which will push on a tab allowing you to rotate the toner carousel until you can see the next cartridge. Repeat for all four toner cartridges. Close up the printer, power it up, and see if it solves the problem. If not, do this: Remove the drum (gently pull on the green handle). Be careful not to touch the roller or let it contact anything. Get a flashlight, look down inside the printer on the right (it's kind of hard to see, it's almost under the toner cartridge). You will see a black sensor switch with three wire-like contacts, surrounded by a square white housing. Wipe off those contacts, if you can get the eraser in there better yet. Contacts are kind of flimsy, be VERY careful you do not bend them. Next, take the point of a pencil and push on each contact, it should move in and return when released. If that seems good, put it all back together and try the printer again.

Sharp MX-M232D: F2-40 error. I was able to scan without issues. When I inserted a Sharp Genuine Toner cartridge into the machine, I receive an F2-40 error.

Hi,
If you have reset the machine as described & then re--inserted the same toner cartridge giving you the same error code then I would suspect the CRUM chip that is installed on the toner cartridge is faulty.
If your machine is under a maintenance contract which includes the provision of toner then contact your service provider & they should replace it F.O.C. If you have purchased it yourself then contact the supplier advising them of a faulty cartridge. If you replace the toner with a new one, you must reset the machine as above before you insert the new toner.
Hope this helps.
Dave.

Black cartridge error

First, check to see that a toner cartridge is in fact installed.
Open the toner access panel and remove the cartridge.

Check to see if it is indicating that it is empty. If so, replace the toner cartridge and wait for the error message to clear as the machine prepares the new cartridge for printing.

Brand new lexmark original cartridge is not recognised. error report' no cartridge'. all contacts cleaned machine dismantled and cleaned and reassembled. has done this before on occasion with refilled...

1. Open the top front cover of the printer. If the display DOES NOT read Close cover or Insert cartridge, the 32 error is not caused by the toner cartridge and printer service will be required to fix the problem.

2. Make sure the correct toner cartridge is installed for this printer model.
1. Check Lexmark for a list of compatible cartridges for your printer.
2. If the wrong toner cartridge is installed, remove it and install the correct one.

3. If the correct toner cartridge is installed, it may not be seated correctly. To ensure that this is not the cause of the error, do the following:
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Reseat the toner cartridge.
3. Close the lid.
4. Power the printer back on and check the display.

4. If reseating the toner cartridge does not clear the error message and the error started as soon as you installed this particular toner cartridge, the cartridge may be broken. You can check this as follows:
1. Power off the printer and then reinstall the old cartridge. (You can also try a different new cartridge to see if that clears the error.)
2. If the error does disappear, the problem may lie with this cartridge. Please contact the point of purchase, especially if the cartridge is brand new out of the box.

5. If the error cannot be cleared by putting in a new toner cartridge or one that is known to be working, the printer may require service to fix the problem.

J3 error On Xerox WorkCentre Pro - 215

A J3 means the toner cartridge is not compatible. That is the what the J3 message means.
Make sure the correct cartridge has been installed. For example, a Pro16 Toner Cartridge looks very similar and will fit in the machine, but it will display a J3 fault. Install a known correct Toner Cartridge if you suspect the cartridge in the machine is the problem. If the wrong Toner Cartridge has been used, the correct cartridge needs to be ordered and installed in the machine
It is possible the chip on the back of the cartridge is bad. Have you tried reseating the cartridge? Maybe it is just loose.
