I have an 42 in. hd plasma tv for over 3yrs. and just to day when I was watching it it suddenly turned off and when I tried to turn it back on it powered up but went straight to stand by mode and each time I try to turn it on it does the same thing goes straight to stand by mode. do you have a solution?
An Electronic component has failed. Unless you can repair circuits, take it to a shop or friend who can. Consider cost of replacement. A few hundred will fix an old tv, a couple more and you have a whole new unit.

I realized that I bought a piece of junk. It will probably cost me as much to fix it as it did to buy it. Therefore I wont be buying another piece of junk plasma tv. I will buy a product that is warranteed for a reasonable time. My TV was a Hitachi but from what I read from other plasma tv owners, they are all the same. What kind of company sells products that last for a fraction of time in relation to the cost? How can we continue to purchase inferior products for outrageous money? Remember the old TVs, they lasted for years for a fraction of the price!!
