On the phone you would need to gointo settings > wireless and enable your wireless radio. You should then get a notification that wireless networks are available. Select your's or a public wireless network if you're at a coffee shop, ect. Enter any applicable passwords. For this to work you need to verify your phone has wireless capabilities and that the phone and router support the same 802.11 standard. Current Standards are a,b,g,n and ac

SOURCE: belkin router wifi with i phone and g1 will not connect the lap

this is because of the security type WPA enabled in the router...youo can login to router setup page by typing 192.168.2.1 in the internet explorer...click on security (found in the left side, if it asks for password leave it blank and click submit) and change the security type to wep64bit and type any 10digit number as your password in key1...dont type anything other than that in any other boxes....click on apply changes...
now scan and connect your network from iphone and enter security key and login....
also delete the preferred networks from your laptop and scan and connect again....

rate me if it is useful....

SOURCE: no wifi and lan light

Sometimes, you may just need to update the drivers for your adapter, suggests PC Mech. If you cannot connect to a home network, move your wireless usb wifi adapter closer to the router. Other radio frequencies, such as cellphones and microwaves, can interfere with wireless signals.

SOURCE: connect Nokia C3 to Netgear router

Connect a LAN cable from the Netgear to the LAN port on your computer, open a browser and enter the Netgear configuration URL -
http://192.168.0.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = password You can now change the default admin password and configure the wireless settings.
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

WiFi not working for router

If you can see the SSID for the router from a WiFi device then it sounds like a security key issue. While connected through a cable login to the router. You should be able to trouble shoot the WiFi service from the router UI.

Samsung Galaxy Core I8260

Login in using your browser and go to the wireless settings and set-up a wireless password/key. Remember the key because each device will now need it to connect. You can also turn OFF Broadcast SSID and your network name will not be shown on anyone's device. You must remember the network name when using this method.

Then make certain all your devices login to the wireless network with the SSID and Key.

I have an arris router with suddenlink. i can login but i can't change my ssid because everything's greyed out. how do i fix that?

This can be done -- I've done it to my Arris modem router interface from Suddenlink.

Make sure you have your original modem/router login info (typically this is something like admin/admin, or admin/password). You'll need this info in case there is an error and you need to reset your device. If you do this simple step-by-step carefully you won't need to reset and you'll be able to use the password or SSID you prefer with your device.

To do this, the page with the grayed out field(s) must have an Apply, Submit, or other button that saves changes on the page.

DO NOT TAKE THIS LIGHTLY.
IF YOU EDIT THE WRONG GRAYED OUT FIELD YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO USE YOUR MODEM/ROUTER.

Only do this for Names, SSIDs, Passwords, etc.
Do *NOT* do this for other values--things are grayed out for a reason.

1. Use Chrome or Firefox.

2. Log into your modem/router.

3. Right click on the grayed out field (which you want to edit) and select "Inspect" from the small context menu that appears by your mouse cursor.

4. A complex looking set of window panes will open.

5. The code for the grayed out field you selected will be highlighted in one of those windows panes.

6. In that code look for something like:

disabled

(or)

disabled="disabled"

7. Click on that little bit of code text.

8. Delete only that text:

disabled

(or)

disabled="disabled"

9. As soon as you click out of the editor and back onto the page you'll see the gray is gone and you can change the text in the field which is now editable.

10. Replace the SSID, password, key phrase, or other information you're trying to change with the information you want there.

BE CAREFUL ABOUT SPECIAL CHARACTERS OR SPACES.
THEY MAY NOT WORK.

11. After you've changed the text to be what you want, tap the Apply or Submit button on that page.

12. The page should refresh now and record the new information in the field(s).

If everything goes south (perhaps because you used a space or character which wasn't allowed), it's okay. All modem/routers have a reset button.

Not Connecting

Hello, Richevekelly -

You may just need to take some steps to boost your WiFi signal and / or WiFi speed.

Reade the information here:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/tech-tips-and-tricks/how-to-increase-wifi-speed.html

I also found this information on how to boost a WiFi signal using aluminum foil:

http://www.techiepaw.com/boost-wifi-signal-with-aluminum-foil/

It seems like such a McGyver hack, I had to provide it . . . if only for fun. :)

Best wishes.

I have a 07114N model. It linked fine with my phone. I upgranded my phone and it connected fine with the new phone but I decided not to keep the new phone and so I went to link with my my original Samsung...

the default wifi passkey is usually printed on the label stuck to the router. you can login to the router using admin admin with a lan cable connected pc start a browser and enter 192.168.1.1 into a browser to get the menu up. you can then alter the wifi passkey value to whatever value you prefer. ALL Wifi signals have a PassKey by default so you must have entered it at some stage to the working devices.
