Dual Element Burner on glasstop range - inner element cycles off too long at 20-25 seconds

Inner small burner on dual burner does not heat well unless on HI. When tested on medium heat, the small burner continually cycles on for two seconds and off for 20-25 seconds. Water only simmers, never a full boil due to the 20-25 second delay. Repair did not test any parts and only said nothing is wrong with the element since it is heating.

SOURCE: Dual element burner on glasstop range...inner element stays on

It is the burner control (behind the knob). The triac in the control has failed. $50 item, 10 minute change. Just make note which wire goes to which terminal.

I doubt that it is the control board, as the board has little to do with the stove top, but rather controls the display and the oven temperature/feedback monitoring.

Hope this helps.

Could be either, but test the continuity of the heating elements with a multimeter first.

Inner 6-inch element on the 12 inch/6 inch Dual Radiant Element cycles off too long

Sounds like the file is corrupted. That doesn't mean the footage is irretrievable. I believe the file type is .mov on that camera? You need to find a .mov repair program, there are lots out there. I don't want to give you a link since I haven't used any of the .mov ones and don't want to accidentally give you malware, so I'll leave that part up to you. But you should be able to get your file repaired, just google ".mov repair."

I have a Maytag Glasstop stove (Mer5875qas). THe left front dual burner only heats on the outside ring. The inner portion does not heat. Could it be a wiring problem or is it more likely that the burner...

There are 2 likely causes. It is more likely that the element is open circuited and needs replacing. The hotplate controller could also be faulty. The circuit needs to be tested to determine the faulty part.

My GE profile electric range (model PS905SPSS) has a power boil burner with dual burner elements (one inner circle and one large outer circle). The outer circle one is glowing and heating but the inner...

Disconnect power to range. If you have an ohm meter, you can check the burner coils for continuity from the wires at the switch. If not, open oven door, remove screws holding top. Lift up top and remove screws holding the set of burners in question and visually inspect the inner coil for a break in the burner coil.

Frigidaire ES340 Range One element from Dual element doesn't work

The elements DO BURN OUT. Replace it.

Often you can see evidence of a hot spot on the element where the final failure occured, but not always.

Replacing a radiant element on a maytag glass top range I'm having strange problems with the two right elements of my MER5770 The front larger dual element will only operate at high heat. When turning on...

If the burner is scorched or pitted, go ahead and replace it. New burners can cost anywhere from $10 to $40. Otherwise, check the burner's electrical connections to make sure there is solid contact. Jiggle the burner in its socket. If it is loose, then remove the burner—most just pull out of the electrical socket, although some are mounted with a screw. (Always unplug the range before removing a burner.) Slightly spread the two terminals apart for a tighter connection. If it still doesn't work, then replace the faulty burner with a functioning burner of the same size. If that burner works, then replace the bad burner with a new one. If it doesn't, then inspect the electrical socket for damage. If it's charred, replace the socket. To do so, remove the screws that secure the socket to the range and then unscrew the range wires. Attach the wire connections of the new socket to the range wires and reassemble the burner.

its been my experience that the dual burner switch is far more likely the culprit, unless you can physiclaly see the outer ring is broken( visual inspection works wonders. as far as trying to ohm out i generally look at theelemnet itself (4 wires lead to the elemnt you can trace 1 to the outer portion of element, and 1 to the inner portion.WITH POWER OFF Iswithc those 2 wires and the restore power try element ad watch for outer ring to work inner ring no good. now i know its the switch not sending power. reset wires and order new switch
