Does not dry completely

Replaced 10 year old Whirlpool Estate gas (propane) dryer with equivalent present model (EGD4400WQ0). A day after "pro" installation, it stopped igniting. Store sent repair tech, replaced some coils, and gas ignited OK, dryer heated, but clothes did not dry completely, even on "most dry" auto setting. Towels still damp after TWO "most dry" rounds. Store exchanged for another new one, same problem. I cleaned the exhaust duct (metal) before the new one was installed, so that's not it. Any ideas before I try to convince the store they sent me another lemon? Thanks

Pretty well. Plus, before it died, the old dryer was drying clothes just fine, and that's before I cleaned the duct.

How well did you clean that duct, the duct is problem 90% of the time when the dryer does everything else, pretty much if the dryer heats and tumbles its doing its job

sounds like thermostat would be the only thing left but if you have a second new dryer with same issue, ...
maybe you should try a different one like a GE, they get better airflow inside.

Sounds like the control switch is bad. You should be able to find one on ebay, and a video on how to replace it on "you tube".

Propane to nat. gas dryer

Good day,
Yes. Two reasons. The orifice that the gas comes out is a different size, and the regulator that determines gas pressure is disabled when using Propane, since propane has the regulator on the tank.

See here.

If you are not 100% sure what your doing, call a qualified company to perform the conversion. Isn't worth the gamble.
Propane is, unlike natural gas, heavier than air. It can pool in a low spot then ............

Dryer still wont heat

you could remove and bench test the theromostat. my kenmore would not complete the circut to heat at all with a faulty thermostat. Just use a jumper wire to bypass it and test it THERE WILL BE NO SHUT OFF COULD HEAT UP TOO MUCH IF LEFT RUNNING.
