Hi Hubert,

You need to go into the BIOS, just tap F8 on startup, and navigate to the sound settings, by using the arrow keys etc. Then press enter on that and it'll let you choose between PCI sound or the onboard sound. Choose PCI, press enter, Save to CMOS and Exit.
The sound should work now, provided you have installed the driver for the sound card.

These driver are installed with the chipset's driver.

Click here to visit the page where you can download the chipset driver (for XP).

Select your OS and select Chipset: ATI Radeon Xpress 200 from the list.

Other drivers are also available.
