Syncmaster 932Gw stays in standby

My Samsung Syncmaster 932gw doesnt turn on when i boot my System. When I push the power button the led circle around the power button blinks like its in stand by. There is nothing on the screen. It looks like its turning on and off in a loop. Yesterday when i tried to find solutions on the laptop and the pc was still on it suddenly powered up and was working properly. Tested almost everything, i rebooted the system a couple of times, everything was great. Now the problem is back. Thanks in advance

Its possible that the cable from the laptop to the monitor is damaged. I would #1 make sure that the connection into the pc and into the monitor are both snug, if they are just slightly off it will keep the monitor from powering on. If they are snug, try another cable (if you have one) or hook the monitor to another pc (possibly your laptop, if it has a video out). Let me know if that solves the problem.

The monitor is only 2 years old. less then 50

If you left it plugged into the outlet, the power supply is still running 24/7 even you never trun it on! Look inside for bad caps first, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

It is possible that this is a capacitor problem. If so, you need to replace the faulty ones with low ESR ones. There are a number of forums where this is discussed. See; http://techreport.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=62360&start=90&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
Good quality low ESR capacitors can be obtained from an excellent German supplier. See: www.elko-verkauf.de. Unfortunately the website is all in German but if you email this guy at; elko-verkauf.de he is fluent in English and very helpful.

My samsung 932gw is turning on and is only displaying for 3 seconds then goes off the power light is still blue, during displaying it makes some noises at the back. what could it be and is that repairable?

michal489, You should use Samsung warranty first!!! If that not an option, you will need to know and understand the top 1 or 2 causes of Black screen monitor failure so you will be able to do a possible DIY repair or contract out the work to someone who can!! Symptom sure sounds like power supply shutdown or failure. If you read some of my older and longer responses to BLACK screen owners in my fixya profile and visit some of the web links found there you will be in a much better position to make a decision on how best to deal with your lcd monitor.
I hope this steers you in direction you want to go. 12fixlouie

Screen won't come on

  1. Check video card
  2. check cables
All else fails and you do not even got a standby light you might have a blow power supply in this monitor $40 bucks to fix if that is the case as that is what mine cost.
