Have a problem with a Sharp AR152. The toner

Have a problem with a Sharp AR152. The toner light stays on. Normally sharp machines turn over trying to add toner and if there is not enough toner in the light then comes on. With the machine I have after turning it on and it warms up the toner light comes on without trying to add toner. Can anyone help?

    Thanks very much for that. Is there a way of fixing the chip as I refilled the cartidge with toner if not I will have to fit a new cartridge. Regards Tony

Once the toner lite comes on it blows the chip in the toner cartridge, a new toner will fix your problem.

    The companies that refil the toner cartridges get replacement chips, but I don't know where I could direct you. The chip is on the rear end of the cartridge with 4 gold pins held in by 2 screws.

    You can try the folks that sold you the toner for refilling.

Question edited for clarity, 'sharp at 5516' to 'Sharp AR-5516'.

Remove the toner cartridge and clean the contacts on both the cartridge and the copier with alcohol. Tap the cartridge on both ends to settle the toner. Make sure you are using genuine Sharp replacements.

CH is normally a door open or not closed firmly enough. Did you try another toner just in case?
check the toner cartridge.check the IC chip,at the back of the toner.Or better replace original sharp toner.

The toner light is in the shape of a triangle. If your light is in the shape of a circle you need a developer change. Technician required to do this.

HOW WILL I SOLVE ERROR CODE CH ON SHARP 5516
If it is on solid then you have a cover that is not closed try opening and closing all your covers. sometimes you need to use tape to hold them down if they wont stay closed on their own. If it is blinking then your developer unit is not communicating with the machine, this is the unit between the toner and the drum that is normally held in by one blue screw. pull it out and try using canned air to clean the electrical contacts on the back of it.

No error message but copier light doesn't come or number of copies doesn't work
let it run eventually the toner lite will come on, sharp copiers will run an extended period trying to add toner to the developer. developer is 70% iron filings and 30% toner as it uses the toner it cycles more in to stay at the proper level.

RED LIGHT
If the signs that is blinking red which is shape like triangle , it is the toner cartridge indicator. The toner cartridge is empty.Try to pullout and check the toner cartridge, if it is light in weight it is already empty.

The start button won't turn green when power turned on.
if the machine needs toner you will be able to change paper size & reduction but the machine will not come to ready[green ready light lit]. so if the machine keeps running after you turn it on it needs toner. if you leave it on for lets say 15 min. does it give you an add toner light or an error code?

Toner error message on copy machine
Is "CH" steady or flashing? If it's steady, the door is not shut properly.
If it's flashing, the machine doesn't detect the presence of the toner cartridge (defective toner cartridge). Try another toner cartridge (an empty cartridge will do).

To get the blue handle to stay locked sometimes takes fiddling with it when the cartridge is in.
