I just bought a sidekick id and i have cingular and i don't know how to unlock it. someone help!!

An easy way to make the phone work, but you can't text or access you sim but can make and recieve calls until you can get an unlock code is when it asks for the code, hit the big X button to cancel it out, then hit the upper left three lines button to bring up the menu. Go to settings, then network options, then scroll down to scan and select network manually. let it do it's thing and then pick Cingular or ATT sometimes one or the other shows up. And you can make and recieve calls with your number, I am still working on how to get the texting to work

I have a sidekick 08 and went through the whole unlocking process correctly....by the way i am trying to switch to at&t.....so when i get to the part that i choose the network..at&t shows but will not connect to the network...my phone only will allow me to make emergency calls only....help!!!!

If you mean when turn it on, and it comes up and says something like "waiting for activation" you can hold the button in the upper left hand corner (with the three lines) and the L button for a few seconds.

    I did this and it worked so well for my sidekick ID , now I can talk / dial and text they work perfectly. But only my address book is locked. Thanks for your help , That was awesome I have tried everyway it didnt work.

I cant unlock my sidekick ID for another carrier other than T Mobile all it says on the screen is awaiting activation even a tmobile sim card doesnt work in it, as they dont support it anymore anybody can help me?

I tried the 800 # and you cannot dial it because one digit is missing. I tried several times and it will not go through. You need another digit in the 800 #.

First call cingular and ask for your P.U.K. number after you get it put the sim card in the sidekick click the three lines on the top left corner go to setting and then sim settings go to put code at the bottom then change code to something simple youll remember....after that go to settings again then network options go to scan and manually select network and its either gonna pop up a cingular or at&t network choose that one and turn off fone and then turn it back on

1.your sim needs a password 
2.turn off ur sidekick 3 
3.place ur cingular card in 
4.turn on sidekick 3
5.itz gunna ask you for a special code ignore it
6. go to settings den sim center 
7. if ur sim lock is disabled jus enable it 
8.den change ur sin pin to wateva you want
9.once u change it you will signals bars go up
10.go 2 settings network options 
11. press scan scan select manually 
12. select ur network 
13. and datz it your sim iz workin on sidekick 3

ok...do u have T-Mobile???if so if you ahve had the account for 3 MONTHS you tell them that you are going to Europe for 2 weeks and you need the unlock code so u can use it over there..they will give it to you for FREE so u dont have to pay for it...btw the Sidekick 3 is for T-Mobile and they lock their data side...so you might not beable to use the internet on it if u put it on cingular

T-Mobile Sidekick ID Unlock
Try holding down Menu-jump to get to the emergency screen. Then hold down on menu-shift-Q and release. It will ask if you want to reset phone. IT WILL RESET AND DELETE EVERYTHING!!!!. It will be like new. Except sim. This works with sidekick 2, not sure with others.
