SOURCE: how do you get new fuel line into the gas tank of

FIrst off be sure you have the correct size line. Poulan uses several sizes of fuel line. If you got the wrong one, you won't get it to go in. The best way is to cut the tip of the fuel line at an angle. If you warm the fuel line before inserting it, it will go in easier. Once you get it forced in a little ways, you can reach in with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull on the fuel line while pushing it in from the outside. If you bought the line from a Poulan dealer, then instructions would be included along with the end being precut at a long angle to assist with installation.

SOURCE: poulan model p3314 recoil spring won't go in correctly

You need to pretension it. Remove the pull handle, rotate the spool about 2 revolutions against the spring, rethread the cord and reinstall the handle.

Rewind sticks

Was the saw dropped on it's left side? Remove the entire starter housing and look for bent metal parts. Does the cord operate normally when off of the saw? Unless the housing was crushed, usually you can bend some of the internal metal parts to get the spool to turn freely. Hope this helps!

How do you replace spring on a poulan chainsaw

A Poulan "P4018WT Gas Saw Type 1" IPL follows (may not be your saw):
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/P4018WT-Gas-Saw-Type-1/75.P4018WT-Gas-Saw-Type-1.1.59.1.html
If yours is not a "Type 1" it can be found here:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
The dash number of your serial number is the type.

If the spring is unwound:
Recoil Spring Rewind
I invert and secure the starter housing and rewind the spring large coil to small (need eye protection and both hands). I am right handed so I tension the spring enough to insert it inside the previous coil while holding what has already been installed with my left about 180° from my right hand. The tension will hold the spring in the housing once completely rewound. Then bend slightly the inner most part to engage the starter spool. The video explains how to tension the spring.

Cant remember how to put the spring back on the pull cord recoil

This reply is based on the following assumptions:
A Poulan PP2375LE (wildthing) Type 2
The starter recoil spring is unwound.
All components aer servicable

Poulan 2375LE Type 2 IPL
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/2375LE-Gas-Saw-Type-2/75.2375LE-Gas-Saw-Type-2.1.59.1.html
Starter components and reassembly order are illustrated on the "Handle, Chassis & Bar Assembly" detail.

If the spring needs rewound this is how I do it, there are other methods.
Recoil Spring Rewind
I invert and secure the housing and rewind the spring large coil to small (need eye protection, and both hands). I am right handed so I tension the spring enough to insert it inside the previous coil while holding what has already been installed with my left about 180° from my right hand. The tension will hold the spring in the housing once completely inserted. Then bend slightly the inner most part to engage the starter spool.

This illustrates proper pretension and rope installation:
Smalleng.com (about 3.5 minutes long and worth watching the entire video)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRyy3MlsjVo

If yours is not a Type 2 you can find the correct IPL here:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
The dash number of your serial number is the type.

I hope this was helpful

I'm having problems with reattaching the pull cord. I've made several attempts but the cord will not keep it's coil. What gives?

Morethan likely you have bent the end of the rewind spring and it will not hold onto the cam on the starter pulley. Since the pulley is plastic, the pulley could also be the problem.

Rewind don't work

as you put the side with the recoil starter back on the saw, ensure the rewind pack isn't binding. before tightening the screws, pull the rope out a few inches and let it rewind. if it won't, something is binding. keep moving the side panel till it will rewind. I have done this before myself. get it all put back together and it won't work.....

Poulan Wild Thing 18 Inch replace starter spring?

A new spring comes wound tight enough to be dropped into place in the starter housing (Easiest).

I invert and secure the starter housing and rewind the spring large coil to small (need eye protection, both hands and no women around work area!). I'm right handed so I tension the spring enough to insert it inside the previous coil while holding what has already been installed with my left about 180° from my right hand. The tension will hold the spring in the housing once completely inserted. Then bend slightly the inner most part to engage the starter spool. It will require about 2 turns of pretension to retract properly.
If you're lucky you can pull the cord out enough for a pretension then slightly raise and add the withdrawn cord to the spool.

Both methods require about 2 turns of pretension to rewind the cord when pulled.
