The dryer power up and goes through the normal power up test including the filter check when i hit the start button the drum does not turn. I hear a slight click sound as if it is trying to engage but no movement. The timer starts on the screen with the animation saying Drying. Please help.

Some dryers now come with a lot of electronics to run them and with electronics and heat, they don't like each other.
The click you hear is a relay switch on a board inside on or near a power board simular to a tiny computer,
Rplace that board.
Now to know which board is another question,
With the power removed (unplugged) disassemble the top part or the back of the dryer. When inside follow the main wires from the plug and see if it meets a electronic board. It could be or maybe burnt. That is you main power board, take it to an appliance shop to replace it
Take along your model# of your dryer
Happy drying

Hello,
Welcome to FixYa.
Based on your description and my experience, I'd say possibly the belt has come off, thus activating the "kill switch".
I've seen this many, many times...though the belt usually doesn't break it just comes off. Very common for Samsung dryers for whatever reason.
**Unplug the unit before proceeding...safety first**...
The good news is if it's accessible from the back you can simply remove the small panel around the exhaust tube as shown here,
if it's not you'll need to go from the front...do-able just a little more involved, let me know.
Once in the back the belt should look like this when routed properly, with the "V" grooves towards the drum and motor pulley.
i.e.
Hope that moves you forward...or even better, to the finish line, lol.
Let me know what you find. If this is something you think is not within' your scope of expertise please call a pro.
I will try to help in any manner I can of course as well. Good luck.
