It must be a red light flashing as the 50V500 has no green lights on it. Make sure that when you place the lamp cover back on that it is activting the micro switch behind it. Otherwise the set will assume the door is open and won't ignite the lamp. Otherwise the ballast could be the issue.

I have one of these units, if the light is blinking and no picture as you have stated then you will need to replace the bulb in the unit. it is contained in the front of the unit behind the front panel on the right, you would remove the front panel after unplugging the unit, remove the single screw and pull out the box. replace it and then reverse the proces. the bulbs can be obtained for about $130.00 to $200.00 depending on where you get it from.
