On my Kenmore model 665.13489K900, it does not clean well and appears to have a problem with getting or circulating water inside to all areas, especially the top shelf.

Check the center wash arm assembly. If the center wash arm isn't getting water, all of the dishes in the upper rack will come out dirty. Check to be sure the center wash arm assembly is mating properly with the water supply nozzle in the back of the dishwasher. Also check to be sure the little holes in the center wash arm aren't clogged or blocked. * Run empty cycle using vinegar and baking soda lime scale problem will resolve.

SOURCE: how do i remove cover on food chopper? kenmore 665

Hold the lower spray arm hub (plastic bolt spray arm connects to) and turn the lower spray arm counter clockwise to remove it.
Using a torx bit, remove the 4 screws and the top cover. Remove the screws for the lower cover and the chopper cover. Insert a flat screwdriver it into the clip of the chopper cover to pull it up easier.
Unless there are alot of "foreign objects" in that area, be prepared to replace the chopper, the motor and/or sump assembly.

SOURCE: I have a kenmore elite and none of my dishes are coming out clean

Well, if the motor is moving, try adding a half gallon of /hot/ water before you start the cycle (just pour a saucepan full directly into the dishwasher). If that sounds like it is doing a lot more "blasting" than it was before- you probably need a new water inlet valve, or perhaps to take your water inlet valve off and try to clean out the screen. Problem being, you arent getting enough water into the washer before it starts washing.

It is located at the front of the machine behind the panel under the door.. but as a check, make sure that the valve under the sink that sends water to the dishwasher is all the way open, as this can cause the same problem.

If you do decide to remove the valve, be sure to cut the power at the breaker, or unplug the dishwasher, and turn off the water valve under the sink.

SOURCE: kenmore dishwasher not cleaning properly

Our Kenmore was not cleaning the upper dishes properly also. Obviously the water pressure delivered by the pump was restricted. Under the lower spinner and a larger plastic plate held on with 4 Torx screws and a smaller cover (2 more screws) over a small grinder cutter arm connected to the pump running around a circular metal perforated disk. This disk was clogged with the plastic from the dishwasher tabs - DON'T USE THEM!
Sadly the clog had also damaged plastic end of the pump that engaged with this spinning "cutter arm" so I had to modify the arm to make it fit again.

Once we stopped using the Tabs, all our problems disappeared.

Kenmore elite bottom freezer. Isn't making ice and the water dispenser that is in the fridge is pouring warm water not cold. Any suggestions on how to fix?

What is the temperatures inside the fresh food section? Is the freezer is beginning to get a layer of frost buildup on the rear wall? If yes a layer of frost is building on that rear panel then we need to look into three main parts because what you described is possibly due to a defrost problem causing temperatures to rise because a large area of frost is blocking air circulation behind the rear panel inside freezer. The parts are the=> 12868513 Main Control Board 67002493 Defrost Heater and the=> 67003426 Defrost Thermostat Answer about the layer of frost and I will help you narrow this down to what part you may need to replace but, Thanks Sea Breeze

Kenmore Elite Oasis 2709 water level problem

For low water volume - or "Trickling" effect...

1. Turn off the water supply to both hoses.
2. Remove hoses (one at a time so you don't get them confused)
3. On the washer side - look for a removeable screen inside wher you just removed the hose.
4. Using a small screwdriver - pop out the screen and reverse-flush it/clean it. It will likely be full of sediment and calcium deposits from your pipes.
5. Replace the inlet screens.
6. Re-fit the hose to the machine.
7. Turn on water supply valves.
8. re-try.

Water leaks out front

I had exactly the same problem with my Kenmore Ultrawash. I thought the leaking might be coming from the seals around the door, but found that it was leaking from the top as described. I removed the air vent cover on the inside of the door and found that it and the vent area had a great deal of what appeared to be dissolved paper. At first I thought perhaps this was somehow remenents of some kind of air filter, but after reading the post here, came to conclude this was foreign matter. I believe what happended is we at some time washed jars or something with lables on it and this stuff accummulated inside the air vent area. I think in a normal case, when the washer is running, water is mostly stopped from going into the air vent area by the hatched cover, but inevitably some water would get thru. This would be ok normally, because the water would just hit the vent area and probably just fall back into the washer. With all the debris stuck in the vent area and on the cover, I suspect the water was not able to exit the vent area or was hitting the debris and causing the water to jet out the opening to the front - hence the water coming out the vent and pouring down the front. Once I cleaned out the vent area and the cover from the debris, I replaced the cover and ran the washer with no water leaking anymore.

I'm so glad you posted your finding - it gave something to look into, and turned out to be the same source of the problem. You saved me a service call.

Hi I have a Kenmore model 13742k. The dishes in the upper tray are not getting cleaned. The upper spray arm is not circulating. I dissassembled the components from the base leading up to the spray arm...

The top rack is not cleaning because of low water pressure from the wash motor to the upper spray arm.
Assuming the top spray arms are clear of debris, remove the lower spray arm to access the wash motor. Remove the 4 torx screws and the filter (accumulator assembly). Remove the torx screw and the inlet protector that covers the chopper assembly. Make sure the chopper is not broken (broken chopper will fill with debris and block water flow). While holding the chopper blade, reach inside the "D" shaped opening on top of the motor and spin the wheel/motor by hand in each direction to make sure either the chopper gear or the motor gear that drives the chopper is not broken. Replace the chopper if necessary (part # 8268383). If the motor gear is broken, replace the sump and motor assembly (part # 8535150). Remove any debris from the sump area in the process.
You don't have to because the door will be open, but if you feel more comfortable shutting off the power to the dishwasher, do so.
Good luck!

Kenmore dishwasher

fatubu, are you sure you have the correct model number, Im not finding anything on the posted model. They had an issue on models close to this that had an issue with a twisted or missing seal in the pump assy. causing water to fill the pressure switch hose. The dishwasher would drain water after the fill. The fix was to replace the pump and motor assy. Catriver..post back.
