If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

Rainbow screen

Hi Metthew,
Most probably the TCON board in your tv is defective. Please consult some qualified service technician. Most of the time the company service centers ask you to replace the entire LCD panel, which is an expensive affair. TCON board is a small part of the panel. and its job is to distribute the picture information across the LCD screen. Good luck.

DP55441 LCD Screen Problem

I think you should have it checked for soldering problems. It could be that as you struggled to get the unit of the bracket that you might have damaged the circuit boards.
If you can use a soldering iron your self then simple take off the back and look for signs of damage.

NEC 40 in. LCD TV

You will first need to identify the LCD panel model # to your set. There should be a sticker on the back of the LCD panel assembly stating the panel model #.You will have to take the back cover off to expose the back of the LCD assembly. Do not make the mistake in ordering a replacement panel based off of your TV model # alone !!! Many TV manufacturers will use multiple panels in the same model series. Once you have your LCD panel model #, you can try Ebay or just google the LCD panel model #. If there are parts dealers with the panel, google should find them for you. Hope this helps

I have a 40' lcd samsung and have got 3 colored lines, a red, blue and green, about 3' in from the left hand side, anyone else had this problem or know how to fix please?

COULD BE A LOOSE LVDS CABLE, IF NOT THEN MAYBE A TAB BONDING ISSUE, YOU WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SCREEN, GIVE IT A SHOCK TEST, GENTLY SLAP THE BACK ON THE TOP MIDDLE AND SEE IF IT GOES AWAY OR CHANGES, IF THE LVDS CABLE IS LOOSE THEN IT NEEDS TO BE RESEATED AND COULD FIX IT, IF NOT THE SCREEN IS ABOUT 80% COST OF WHAT TH TV IS WORTH

Vertical lines on my 40 inch lcd mitsubishi hdtv 1080

Similar problem with an eleven and a half month old LT-40148. Approx. 1 inch vertical banding line on left side of screen on all inputs. After about two weeks, same problem on the right side of the screen.

Fortunately this occurred two weeks prior to the one year warranty expiring.

Called Mits customer service and they referred me to an authorized service center who I happened to have dealt with before.

They picked up the set. The front panel (LCD screen ) had to be replaced. Set was gone for two weeks as parts were not in stock. There was no charge. I hope this screen last more than a year.

Screen shift

Try setting the refresh rate to 60 Hz. (Maybe 75).
Is it xp?
Right click an empty part of the screen, properties, under monitor (I think; I'm on Vista) you can choose the refresh rate.
Most LCD's should be at 60 Hz.
