I bought a Thomas train it has on the bottom of the train 2005 Gullane (Thomas) limited. below that it has Tomy 2005 Tomy made in Thailand. Replaced the batteries and it stil does not work. On the top left side of the train it has (I believe) a small hole with a picture of a drop of water. don't want to put water in there in case it is wrong. the smoke stack has a well inside. It has 2 places that open 1 on the bottom of the train and the battery compartment on the back. do you know the product I am talking about?
Unscrew the screw under Annie, then pull on the top part of Annie to reveal another section where more batteries go. put water in the hole on top of Thomas, not the funnel, but there's another small hole on the top of Thomas. Now Thomas will puff steam! You are lucky to have found this train, he is super fast and very unique because he puffs the steam! we have one, unfortunately my youngest son broke the chassis that connects Thomas and Annie, so it no longer works properly. You will need a dropper to put the water in Thomas.

Take the screw out of the bottom front remove red plastic panel by lifting up on the front, this will allow you to lift front wheels up and to the rear, remove center wheels press the tabs on the left and right side in and remove the cab. One AA battery, reverse steps taken and begin playing.

Hi I dont have a solution but found you can buy a new chassis from tomy uk for about 5 pounds. I also found a guy on eBay called thatwasfun who repairs tomy Thomas things for $10
