I have an emachine t1840 thats i used restore disc in. the disc would not copy all files so i went to a win xp disc to restore. it puts windows in but when its through it does not recognise the hard drive. i donot see a hard drive in bios. ive tried numerous hard drives that i know for sure work. can anybody help?
Hello,
If it doesn't show a HD in bios, that means that either the HD isn't connected properly ie you have 2 devices set as slave or master on same ide cable and it cant detect the HD. Try temporarily disconnecting the CDroms or other devices that may be conflicting and see if that helps.
Hope that helps. Please remember to rate this information.
Thanks
