No help with the rebooting of the computer while connected (same with using command prompt and ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew). The admin password will not clear.

If you are wireless, after a reset you need to connect with the router using an RJ45 lan connector lead. Reboot your notebook, while connect to router and then type in the default address for the set up page normally 192.168.0.1

Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. I am trying to setup my router model wbr 1310, with password protection. but when i come to the ip address and static ip address i cant go any further, help

Hi, There. You should try to reset the router. There's a small hole in the back that you must press with a needle or something similar for about 30 seconds. After all lights turn off and back on, your password should be the factory's original, usually Admin as username and no password.

Good Luck!

How do I secure my WBR-1310?It has already been installed. If I put the installation CD back in will it direct me to security?

First you have to access the router through web browser (Internet Explorer) by typing the IP address of your router in the address bar, which is usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 and lookup for the options to do the following: -
1. Change the SSID (Name) of the router
2. Change the default administrative user name and password (unless you've configured otherwise, the default username is admin and the password password.)
(The above step would prevent unauthorized access to your router)

Next step is to secure it:
1.On the left-hand side, under Setup, click "Wireless Settings" 2.Under "Security Options", select your desired encryption method (preferably WPA2-PSK)
3.Choose a Network Key - it can be anything, as long as it's 8-63 characters in length
4. Click Apply

Now your router and your connection would become secure and the user has to provide the network key to access the internet.

Feel free to contact me for further assistance

I lost Installation Dish for my DLink WRB1310 Wireless Router, Please help.

To configure the unit on the label there is an IP address and a login name and password that will permit you to open the door.
If the password has been changed there is a reset button somewhere on the backside resessed in accessable with a ballpoint pen.
The CD just makes this process supposedly easier.

There may be firmware updates fir the unit

WBR-1310. No admin logon, only f/w upgrade page

Download firmware from site
http://www.dlink.com/products/?tab=1&pid=WBR-1310&rev=WBR-1310

DLink states the login issue has been fixed with firmware v1.04 3/28/07

Remember to get the right one for your unit model. You must connect a RJ45 cable to the router and computer you have downloaded the firmware to and remember which directory it's in. When it asks for the firmware put in the target location (c:\my documents\xxxxx) of the firmware file. Good luck.

D-link wbr-1310

First check to be sure the ip address of the router IS 192.168.0.1, do this by clicking Start/Run and in the Run window type CMD and hit the enter key, this will give you the MS/DOS command window, at the courser type ipconfig /all, then check the ip address shown for the gateway which is your router. If the ip is correct, put a cat 5 cable from the router to the computer and type http://192.168.0.1 if that is the correct ip address and if it does not give you the logon page for the router reset to router to factory defaults as per owners manual. if this works please rate the solution as a FixYa. Thanks BPCS
