Key-repeat does not start right away

When I hold down a key, say 'a', an 'a' is typed, then there is a pause, then another 'a' is typed, and then there is *another* pause, and then the 'a' starts repeating as usual. This is especially annoying when scrolling using the arrow keys, because scrolling motion appears to **** forward before moving smoothly.

When I hold down a key or try to repeat a letter, it will not move without a long pause.

There is a BIOS SETUP configuration, which determines the amount of time (usually 250 milliseconds) before "auto-repeat" starts. Reboot, and enter BIOS SETUP, and configure that value.

Keyboard types the number 6 when i type the letter o, and the number 2 for k, number 3 for l.

I assume this is a laptop? hold down the fn key and tap the NUM LK key. the NUM LK key is probably on the top row of keys, somewhere on the right, combined with SCROLL or PAUSE or one of those other utility keys. I don't know for sure how a Toshiba keyboard is laid out.

Repeat keys and back space has pause when typing

- Go to Control Panel -> Keyboard - We have options where we can configure the repeat delay and repeat rate - To configure sounds you can go to Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Sounds Tab - You can configure sounds related to Windows Operations here P.S. Although the settings I have specified here are meant for Win XP (when control Panel is in Classic View), they would remain almost the same for all Windows OS.
