Alesis masterlink ml-9600 pauses during recording

We use this recorder at our church to record sermons, however while its recording the machine will seem like it pauses. The level indicator will stop moving (at zero) and the timer will stop at whatever point it decides stop recording at. Pushing the pause button twice will get it recording again. There is no consistency as far as where it will pause at. Just recently it "paused" after 3 minutes into the sermon but on the same recording it "paused" after about 20 minutes. I have heard that the fix for this is a firmware update, but am not for sure. Please answer as this is very frustrating.

Recording levels are low

There's no record level adjustment on the Masterlink. Increase the output level of your mixer, or add a variable level preamplifier between the mixer and the Masterlink.

Or, use the level adjustment on the Masterlink once the recording has been done, and before you write it to CD, either with level control or DSP normalisation

When sending either analog or digital sound from my presonus VSL I am not getting any sound to the alesis masterlink. Need some advise please.

The Alesis needs to be in record standby to show any inputs as a signal on the VU meters. Press Record for standby, and press Play to start recording.

You need to be in a playlist, on a track in a playlist, in order to enter Record Standby

I accidentally deleted a recording on the Masterlink ML-9600.

I realise this problem is years old, but for the benefit of anyone with the same problem -

It depends on whether the track has been deleted from a Playlist, or from the Track Storage Area itself. If it's only been deleted from a Playlist, it will still be on the machine

Scroll beyond the end of any playlist, and you'll find the stored tracks. It's only possible to delete a track permanently by going through a 'This will permanently delete the track. Are you SURE?' prompt, so you can't say you weren't warned....

I want to copy LP's to Alesis ml-9600

You will need a phono preamp or use the tape out from a receiver/amp.

Masterlink

I tried the "pressing play/pause and record simultaneously" during power
up, and it worked.....dunno for how long. The unit still makes strange
noises occasionally and doesn't seem completely healthy, but it's up
and I'm copying files that I want to save. We'll see.
