I read other peoples comments with the same problem, I tried the sollution one person said to take the front speaker grill off and then unscrew the center thin board, on the bottom there is 6 adjusting screws, 3 on top, 3 on the bottom, you turn the 3 below the 3 on top, the 3 on top are for focus, I simply turned the one marked with a B counter clockwise just a little bit, then I did the same with the one marked G, it fixed the problem. Thanks to the person who told other people this idea. The screws are marked from left to right B, G, R right below the screw. x x x B G RI read other peoples comments with the same problem, I tried the sollution one person said to take the front speaker grill off and then unscrew the center thin board, on the bottom there is 6 adjusting screws, 3 on top, 3 on the bottom, you turn the 3 below the 3 on top, the 3 on top are for focus, I simply turned the one marked with a B counter clockwise just a little bit, then I did the same with the one marked G, it fixed the problem. The tv problems is call a convergence picture problems,it is just starting to developing. This problems when it is fully developing into a convergence picture problems to the tv eventually.Tv will develope into a colors lines R,G,B mis alignments, have a colors shadow pictures or into a picture 3D look alike.Eventually the tv convergence board will dies, have to have it parts replaced like 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too. This problems the tvs shops will cost u like $300-350 for parts and lobors.
The picture turning reddish indicates the red CRT is failing. Sony does not make the CRT Assemblies available anymore. What they want you to do is to send the red CRT assembly to them, (this includes the Optical Coupler), so they can mount a new red CRT on that Coupler and send it back to you. This runs about 300.00 a CRT and you have three of them. I mention this because if the red is failing, the blue and green CRT's are not too far behind. With the price of LCD sets falling, I do not think it would be economical to fix it.
I hope this helps,

The green picture tube has an internal short. Happened a lot with that model. The tubes are no longer availible. But a reputable company called Video Display will rebuild the tube completely. But the tube must be pulled and shipped to them. Most repair shops would charge around $400 to $500 for the complete job.
Your convergence board is going out. this will have to be replaced. i would take a look at the main logic board as well. it could have minor point breakage.
your convergence IC;s are out, they cost about $40, if you know how to solder, you can do it your self, if not , I would try to find somone that can, service centers charge about 4 or 5 hundred, after you get the new ones, there easy to find on the board in the back of the tv
You have a completely different problem. The screen voltage for the blue picture tube is slightly too high on your set. This will put fine lines in the background of the picture, called retrace lines. This is very common and easy to correct. Remove the front speaker cover and the access panel behind it. Look inside and you will see a black box with six controls, each control having a little white glue on it. This is the Focus/Screen block. Three controls are labeled Focus and three are labeled Screen. The screen control in the center is for green but I am not sure if the screen control on the left or right is for blue for your model. With the TV on, set it to VIDEO 1 but do not connect anything to the VIDEO 1 jacks. This will produce a pure dark picture, showing any faint lines in the background. Choose one of the screen controls and increase (turn clockwise) it slightly. If the blue lines do not get brighter it means you are turning the red screen control, so put it back where it was and choose the other screen control. When you find the blue screen control, decrease (turn counter-clockwise) it until just when the blue lines are gone. If you want you can check that the red and green screen controls are set to just below the point where their faint lines are visible. When done, replace the panels and your picture will be back to perfect.
I followed GuestUser/ Slinteriors advice and I fixed it. Open the front of the TV and there are 6 little nobs in the front. The botton 3 are what you need to adjust. from left to right the color controls are BLUE, RED GREEN. For the blue lines, slightly (I really mean very slightly) turn the botton left nob clockwise (right).
