The evaporator fan has become off balance and is vibrating
most likely the fan motor bearings have failed
Wrong answer, Jim. Evaporator (freezer) fans are cheap shaded pole motors that become electrically unstable over the years due to poor harmonics inherent to their design. Most often the fan and the bearings are fine, but the worn out motor can kick up a fuss like a noisy jackhammer. Get the part number off the internet, and shop on Ebay for the best price.

Who will come fix my fan motor bearings...as I am not paying GE $80 bucks to come tell me that is what's wrong then another $250 for a motor and then another $120 for whatever else they find wrong!
