if it is broken off try taping it if it was broke in have then the same tape it

Use electrical tape for holding the door or you need to visit service center for replacing the complete door.

The problem is a broken 9 volt battery cable.....The red or black cable has broken underneath the battery cover. You can try to re-solder it....make sure it is clean first.....clean it with acetone or high grade alcohol...>91% or higher< if you can get soldering rosin put that on after cleaning then, re-attach broken wire(under black 9 volt cover)

I had this same problem with 2 NEC VT595 projectors. My problem was that there was a broken "tab" on the lamp cover (the plastic cover that slides in place over the lamp) that is supposed to depress a switch which insures the lamp cover is in place before operating the projector. The tab was broken in half and not making the connection there for causing the blinking status light (.5 sec on, 2.5 sec off) indicating a lamp housing or cover error.

Goto auto shop. any name. grab a tube of permatex, blue red don't matter. this seals better then sillacone. sronger lasts longer. put a vare thin bead around the cover. NOT to much abut the same as the old seal. Now let that sit over night, be for putting it back together, or it'll be a real pain opening it back up. this will keep everything out. I've dun this more then once. good luck.

Is the battery cover cracked or broken?

A repair is unlikely without parts, It also depends weather its the part that is actually broken is on the battery cover or the camera itself.
If the camera itself a new case for the camera will be required if the battery cover then a new cover will be needed.

to obtain the spares you have two routes,
a) contact the manufacturer (contact details should be in the manual or on the gtee card)
b) buy a faulty camera from somewhere like ebay and use it for parts
