Did you check the lens to see if dust or residue may be on the projector. You may need to call a repair technician to open up the screen and look inside

This indicates problems with the image engine. (Lamp does not control the colour). If the TV has not been cleaned recently, excessive dust build up internally may have overheated the image engine. If Sony will not cover it, you might want to consider a new TV.

Testimonial: "thanks, tv is only two years old and don't want to buy another one. Hope it is not the image engine."

Two rows of white dots at top of screen

Suspect a defective q-box. Some Sony sets may refer to this part as a b-board or digial board. Most likely the board will be located inside what we techs call a can. It is metal and had holes in it.

Purple dots on screen

thats gunna be dust indide the optical assy on the lcd panels and in that area. mostly on the green lcd panel . ....take it somewhere to get optics cleaned . or if u decide to do it yourself DONT touch the lcd panels with anything just use compressed air and dont take the optics assy apart farther than enough to see the tops of the panels.

White dots

There might be an issue either with your DMD board or your Video board, with the tv on, go to the menu, and if those white dots are still there the issue would be with your DMD board but if those dots magically don't show up on the menu, the issue would be with your Video board

Pink bar across top of tv screen

This could be from 2 things. 1 is the optical block is going bad or 2 you got a peice of dust blown in from the cooling fan and its blocking the color filter internally. If you are capable you can take the tv apart and blow compressed air into the color block and remove the dust. Hope this helps

Nosie dots across the top

I have seen this alot with cable boxes. You cable box is most likely the problem, and I dont think i have ever found a fix for the, the cable companies around here dont normally care. I would talk to the cable company and see if they have a fix for it. Let me know what you find out!
