Fix #5: Use bootrec.exe to fix the boot

The partition boot sector is stored on the hard disk drive and contains the necessary code to start the Windows boot process. If this partition is corrupt or not properly configured during a Windows install it would lead to "BOOTMGR is missing or corrupt" errors at startup.
This method needs a copy of your original Windows installation disc.
Here are the steps to fix this error using the bootrec.exe tool, the same tool used in Fix #4 above:

1. Insert the Windows 7 or Vista install disc
2. Restart your computer and boot from the disc
3. Press any key at the "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD" message
4. Choose Repair your computer after you select the language, time and keyboard method
5. Select your Windows installation drive (usually C:\)
6. Click Next
7. Select Command Prompt from the System Recovery Options box
8. Write the following command and hit Enter: bootrec /fixboot
9. Wait for this message to appear: The operation completed successfully.
10. Restart your computer

To restore Windows without a password:
1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
2. Boot the machine with your Windows 7 Repair CD.
3. Press a key if prompted to boot from the DVD.
4. Select "Safe Mode Command Prompt" when prompted.
5. Select Repair when prompted.
6. Select System Restore when prompted.
7. Set Windows back to a point before this problem occurred.
8. When finished, remove the CD before rebooting the system.
In Step 2 you could also use your Windows 7 installation DVD. The subsequent steps are similar to the ones above.
When finished, plan ahead and create two admin accounts whose details you record on a sheet of paper that you file in a safe place.

finaly if you do not have the cd you can use a copy too.

Had that problem a few times myself.
Only way I could fix was to restore back to factory condition.
As you boot, watch bottom of screen closely.
depending on system, Should need to press F2, F10, possibly F12, might even be Del.
Most likely you didn't get restore disk, or have made one.
If you do, insert disk before boot up. System should boot to DvD.
Don't forget once restored to update.

Try to boot in safe mode-start tapping f8 on start-if ok see problems&solution center.If nothing there then go to add/remove programs and take out sp. Something went wrong.If you cannot boot in safe mode then you will have to restore windows.Try to restore windows on the date before you install service pack.
