I will try explain in simple terms...32 and 64 bit is how wide the address bus is..(how much information can be processed at a time in RAM..so 64 bit is much better for everything ...as long as everything running on it is 64bit compatible.... some older programs are designed for 32 bit and are not backward compatible with 64 bit
Hi delta force,
The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a computer's processor (also called a CPU), handles information. The 64-bit version of Windows handles large amounts of random access memory (RAM) more effectively than a 32-bit system. For gaming, you need to view the system requirements on each game to determine if the software is compatible with 64bit. Not all games will work on a 64 bit processor. Some of the newer more graphic games are compatible with 64bit, but I'd check before you purchase. Also, when you purchase a 64 bit processor machine, you'll find that not all your old software will run under it. You may have some problems and will need to upgrade those versions to thier 64 bit version software, (if available). It's great when it works!
Good Luck and don't forget to leave a rating,
Thanks Mark
Depends on how much RAM your system has, processor speeds, etc. Please see this link for Microsoft's take, and links here and here
and here and here, ad infinitum if you google it.
If you have the ram and the drivers for all your other accessories, 64 bit is the future arriving, for sure.
(See discussions of windows 7 on the same subject here and here)
But it all depends on the system and components you're running, and how soon you intend to replace it all, I suppose...
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
Basicly just memory limit
32 is limited to 3.5GB of mem, while 64 is limited to a couple terabites of ram
as far as gaming about the same if your talking about vista get 64 bit if you havent bought 32 yet
