Turn on TV starts out small dim flash and audio 20-30 seconds later shuts down and gives a red lamp light with the fan running. New bulb does the same thing. Did the two button diagnostic and it gives a 3-3 flash code, from the research on the web it says that the air-filter door is open...frankly I don't know of an air-filter on this model.

you have mention that after 10-15 seconds T.V starts up, will you give total description of the T.V within that 10-15 seconds?

i had the same problem on 10/24/07 and i called a Mitsubishi warranty company near me and they came out and replaced the Sensor part # 1299P313010A. No problem since
SOURCE: Mitsubishi wd52525 shows error code 37
error code 37 is either the dmd fan or the lamp fan. you can see the dmd fan with the cover off. you cannot set the lamp fan as it is under the light engine. I guess the easiest thing to do is get a lamp fan 299P282010 and a dmd fan 299P283010 and change them both.

the lamp is simple; yet you can run into problems with this tv. be very careful replacing lamp. the plug in the tv can be damaged. (due to the design)

Mitsubishi TV troubleshooting
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
