Most common failures in these LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply C242 470uF 10V, C241 & C242 1000uF 16V, C261 & C319 680uF 35V failed as indicated in the attached picture, replace them at once.

If the power supply board is working then it is back light problem, first do a flash light test. If you can see the image in the flash light test, follow the steps how to test back light voltages: https://how-to-repair.org/repair/lg-tv-repair-manual-pdf/lg-led-tv-no-backlights-32ln5300-32ln5310-32ln5700-voltage-test-troub/2pyuXwNkBMA.html and follow the steps how to repair back light LEDs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_poWTEihIJU Fix Led Backlights for TV or Monitor Lg Led Tv No Backlights 32ln5300 32ln5310 32ln5700 Voltage Test Troub Lg... SOURCE: 2232bw samsung DVI in problem

There is nothing broken, but you must become aware of the different standards in DVI connectors.

1)DVI-D which you have, does not have the 4 analog control pins around the alpha bar meaning it only works on digital devices.

2)DVI-A only has the 4 control pins and no bar, as well as a total of only 9-10 pins altogether. This is designed for analog only, and rarely see it anymore.

3)DVI-I stands for Interlaced, meaning it can work both ways, but will not fit in monitors that are set up for DVI-D because the analog pin sockets do not exist.

You can get more detailed by counting the pins in the rectangular area, if you use all 24 pins you have what is called a Dual-Link cable, so it can support resolutions over 1920x1280 if you have about 9 pins missing it is single-link and is limited resolution.

SOURCE: Monitor not wrking

Sounds like you may have had a power surge.??
Disconnect power and signal input.
Turn the unit off for 20 minutes or so. Check the outlet against another device. ( Light )
Turn unit on without connection to PC video.
If you get a no signal, you good to go . Reconnect. If you continue to get a flashing light on power button,
Check warranty, get it back to Samsung for repair.
Hope this has helped

SOURCE: My Samsung 213T monitor went black. Power light

I will not be surprised that it will be bad capacitors, that is the first place to check, see some samples here: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Samsung%20Syncmaster%20214T/

I have Syncmaster 2232bw. When I first switch it on it flashes for about 1 minute before it stopsa flashing. After that it runs fine until I switch off and it cools. Is this the backlight dying?

This happened with my 2232bw also. The problem was that the 5 820uF capacitors that had burnt out so I replaced them with 5 1000uF capacitors and it's now working like a dream.

Monitor on a emachine 250 computer comes on picture is very light faded in the background but no light

This is a typical symptom of a failing LCD screen inverter board or LCD screen backlight lamp. The backlight lamp failure symptoms are very similar to the inverter board failure symptoms. If you have to guess which one is causing the problem, try replacing the inverter board first. LCD screen inverter boards fail more often than the LCD screen backlight lamps.

Samsung monitor picture clicks off after 2-5 seconds...

Yes, It sounds like the backlight inverter circuit is shutting down. No inverter power, no backlight. On some monitors the inverter circuit will shot circuit the power power supply which makes the power light flash on some it just kills the backlight. You can usually check with a flashlight. Hold the flashlight pointed at the screen and see if you can see any of the icons or background picture. If you can then it is the backlight circuit or backlight tubes, usually the circuit.

2232bw samsung DVI in problem

Try a DVI-D (Digital) Only cable, without the analog (right section). I´m basically talking about a DVI-D to DVI-D cable.
