Canon MP640 error 6c10. This error refers to ink absorber full. I have dried out sponges using paper towel. I have cleaned wipers. I have reset error message. Error message is clear when I turn on printer now and everything seems ok BUT when I go to print, the error message comes back on and I cannot print. Do I need to replace the absorber? If so, I cannot find anywhere that sells them.

Why is my canon ip1800 printer still not printing after cleaning the ink absorber, I still get the message ink absorber is full

Shelly, Did you reset printer after cleaning absorber.
Press and hold the "Power" button and reconnect the power cord. When the printer comes on, release the button. Wait five seconds and push the "Power" button again. This resets the printer's internal memory and overrides the "ink absorber full" error code.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

The waste ink disposal is almost full and it won't print

The waste ink absorber is almost full. Press [OK] to continue but early replacement recommended. <See manual>
WASTE INK NEAR FULL The printer has a built-in waste ink absorber to hold the ink used during print head cleaning, for example. This error message indicates that the waste ink absorber is nearly full.
Press the OK button to cancel the error so you can continue printing.
Before the waste ink absorber becomes completely full, contact a Canon1.gif service representative. (You will need to replace a particular part of the printer.) Canon recommends that you call for service as soon as this error occurs. Once the waste ink absorber becomes completely full, printing cannot be performed until the Waste ink tank is replaced.

Waste ink absorber

hi i am a certiffied Canon repair tech for this model. this is true this will reset the error but doing so without replacing the waste asorber pad in the bottom of the machine will cause your machine to backup waste ink into the the printing area of the machine and will start smuging ink on the page. the waste absorber is fairly cheap but the labor varies from shop to shop. there are independent Canon repair shops throughout the world. you can call 1-800-ok- canon or look on the canon website. hope this help to clairify.
