CYE2000AYW Magic Chef dryer. Replaced heating element and associated t-stats a few years ago. Worked fine. Now dryer is heating fine, but won't shut off - timer doesn't advance. When placed on fluff/air, timer advances fine. Vent has been cleaned. There is no timed dry setting. Can't find a moisture sensor part for this dryer. Could it be a t-stat?

The dryer requires cycling of the heat to advance thhe timer on auto dry cycle. see ,link provided parts and repair guidance. Always remove from power supply first.

SOURCE: magic chef cye2000ayw will not turn on
Aside from checking the breaker panel, it is likely the lid switch. Only other item that will cause this is the thermal fuse located on the vent after the element.

There is a thermal fuse inside the dryer usually located behind the back cover on the upper part of the combustion chamber. When this fuse "blows" it turns off power to the whole dryer. This keeps your house from burning to the grown, and you from dying. The fuse "blows" for a reason, most likely to is lint build-up in the dryer and/or dryer vent system. The good new it only cost a few dollars to get a new one. The bad news is you need to find out why it "blew", the dryer got to hot for a reason.
