Hello
The first thing is to try going in the tv's menu
It should be similar to this:
Menu>setup>channel setup

once you find something similar, run the channel setup and it should add in the channels

If that doesn't work, screw on the cable wire, unplug the tv for a good few minutes, then replug the tv and it should automatically scan

Hope this helps
-Chris

I am trying to cut the cord on cable.I have an older Olevia 720p but I can not get to the initial setup screen to change from cable to air to do a channel scan. I've connected a HD indoor antenna.

Select antenna on input selection with remote. Scan for Digital Channels. Contact me for additional help "https://www.6ya.com/philip_b05beb373d913f26

No tv signal on my olevia 232-s12

cable or Ant.. ? after the scan if there is no channels found (0 digital, 0 analog) then try with cable or Ant to see if any of them work.. if they still don't pick up any channels and the whole yellow progress line goes across.. then it sounds like the tuner on the tv is bad.. and the tuner is part of the main-board so the whole main-board will have to be exchange or repair.. contact Amergence technology they are a 3rd party repair center that service Olevia TV's and they will be able to give you an idea on the repair cost..

I have an Olevia 23t lct hd tv. I am plugged in

you said you are using composite cables..? that means you have some kind of cable box ? if you want to get HD channels you have to use a HD box that is supplied by the cable company.. the HD cable box then has to connect to the tv with component cables (green, blue, red cables) or HDMI cable.. to send the HD signal to the television.

Channel Scan

If you have not discarded your old conventional TV or can borrow one, I would connect it to the same signal source you are using with the Olevia. If you get reception with the substitute set, then the Olevia is defective. If you live in a metropolitan area, you could also try sticking a piece of copper wire into the input of the Olevia and selecting antenna input as the source from inside the Olevia's setup menu. If you still get no signal indications (quality is not important for this), then the Olevia is defective.
I'm disappointed to see you having trouble with this set as we own one too. Also disturbing is Olevia's current state; they are in bankruptcy so I would start complaining soon and loudly if you have satisfactorily   identified the Olevia as the problem.

Can't get the channels to enter into the channel list

A lot of the " auto channel scan " etc. need a certain signal strength. you could have too meny tvs, equipment or anything connected to the "signal giver" that is sucking the signal strength. Not just turn off ALL connections to signal but disconnect the antenna 'input' to any equipment (sometimes people connect cable wires to radio receivers for stronger & better signals.)
You could have a open circuit to the input of the equipment in trouble. If you know how to get inside (with out killing yourself) connect an antenna directly to the end of the line of the intanna input INSIDE of the TV. if the signal comes in and the tv 'autoscans' and locks channels, then you have a open wire leading into the circuit.
p.s. BE CAREFUL!!, IF YOU don't know how or what you are doing.........DON'T DO DAT !! [that]
