This sounds like the sim card is not being recognised. Remove it and carefully and GENTLY clean the contacts and try again. Also try contacting Nokia customer support:

Phone wont make calls

It's not reading the SIM card correctly. Thinks it does not have an active acct. Try re-seating the SIM card. Or take to a nokia shop to check it.

Emergency calls only

Contact your service provider even though you have inserted the sim it is possible that in there system the sim is different and will need to be set.

Phone not workig after emergency calls only message

"emergency calls only" means your SIM doesn't get connected to the phone or you have EEPROM code corrupted. No way to make it work on your own - get your device serviced at the local repair shop.
